Heavyweight bristol board and drawing papers are suitable for preparing finished work to save or share with others. Lightweight sketch papers are ideal for beginning the creative process through conceptual sketches of characters and storyboards.
Bristol Board, 260 gsm — This very smooth, heavyweight paper is best suited for use with pen and pencil. It also features good erasability.
Drawing Paper, 250 gsm — This heavyweight paper works well with a variety of media including ink, marker, and pencil. The weight of this paper helps avoid bleed-through and buckling caused by marker or ink. It also resists damage from erasing and scraping.
Sketch Paper, 96 gsm — This multi-use paper can accommodate a variety of dry media including pencil, pastel, and charcoal. It can also be used with pen. The surface erases easily.
Sketch Paper, 74 gsm — This multi-use, lighter weight paper can be used with pen, pencil, pastel, and charcoal. The paper also features good erasability.

Better than I expected

Comments about Canson Fanboy Comic and Manga Papers:
I like to have sketch pads like this to keep all my character designs in for future reference. This sketch pad is perfect for just that. The full sized sheets give you plenty of space, the felt pens that I used on it could be seen if you turn the paper over, but they didn't bleed through or cause a mess. I still would not recommend it for markers, water colors and anything heavy that has a reputation of bleeding through though as this is somewhat light weight paper. Stick to pencils and pens and don't press too hard on this and you should be fine. The paper itself, at least in my opinion, seemed to have a bit of a bite to it and my colored pencils didn't seem to blend well or go down solid on it. But it is what it is, a sketch pad for all your sketches and it works fine for that. I don't think it's intended for finished pieces anyway. But it is certainly better than using printer paper.

Good but could be better.

I have over 200 pages of this comic paper. It is a good quality, and very nice price. My only problem with it is that it is not fully ruled. It has some markers on the sides, but if it was fully ruled it would make it easier to make straight lines from one side of the paper to the other. This is a very nice paper, but if I had to decide between this and paper that was fully ruled I would choose the ruled.
My thoughts on this paper
By Myke Metts
The paper is really nice and big. I use non photo blue sketch pencils and prismacolor India black ink and touch five markers. All work great. No bleeding on to the next sheet. Each piece of paper is very firm and slick. The colors don't seep deep into the paper. They stick nicely on top and keep a nice color to them. When using erasers the paper doesn't shead or tear as much as regular sketch pads. This paper is perfect for drawing, inking with ink markers (I haven't tried brush or quill yet) and coloring with markers. To me it's a great buy.

Excellent paper for beguiners and professionals
from Long island , NY
I've enjoyed that this product comes with instructions and a blue print to help with margins and spacing ideal for comics. The paper most are textured like a bristol. The ink sits on top of the page rather than be absorbed so you must be careful to work from one side to the nextwithout smudging your illustration. Really love these papers and constantly buy and use them.

This comic paper is the perfect size, proportion, texture (or lack thereof), and thickness for professional American comic book creation.

It's extremely useful! This is the only thing that I can really clearly draw the layouts with notes. Though, I wish it was on the back of all pages too (this one is only on front page each).
My go-to art boards for comic books.
By Michael Yakutis
from Crescent City, CA
These are my go-to art boards for comics. They are durable and cost effective. They are just thin enough to run through my Brother printer when I need to print out some cyan pencils (I just have to help push it through a little). Canson seems to make the best art boards, imo. I have yet to come across a page that bleeds, unlike Strathmore which is usually very inconsistent. -Professional comic book artist-
Wonderful paper for marker illustration
Wonderful paper to work with. Doesn't bleed and doesn't over absorb marker. Nice and sturdy, great for mat mounting. I use copic markers and this paper is great for them!
Best Marker Paper Available
from Birmingham, AL
I use the Canson Fanboy Comic paper with Copic markers to create illustrations for books. The paper drinks the ink right from the pens without bleeding. I can get even, single-color coverage in large areas, beautiful blends, and fine details with both marker and multiliner pens. I doubt that I could find a better paper for the cost.
