I use this book to draw while i am at work on break or lunch. I use a .9mm mechanical pencil and i can get very nice lines or curves of different widths by rotating the pencil. I draw with a very hard pressure and the lines do not go thru the paper and leave a ghost image on the next sheet of paper. The stretchy band keeps it shut and it takes a good amount of abuse on the hard outside covers, front and back. The only bad thing i can say is do not leave in the car during the summer as the outside cover can begin to curve and warp, but that is it. Thanx.

During my time as a student as well as a working professional artist, I have purchased multiple sketchbooks. I've had spiral bound books before but was never quite satisfied with their function/paper quality/size.

I needed a new sketchbook specifically for a new project I'm currently working on and I needed it to have a horizontal layout. I did quite a bit of hunting and price comparing both on-line and off. The Cachet Select spiral bound sketchbooks have fit all my needs and more. The quantity and weight of paper surpasses what you get in just about all of the other sketchbooks I looked at. The book lays flat, making it easy to work on both sides of the pages even as you make your way farther into it. The hard cover is sturdy and feels nice to the hand and the elastic band that keeps the book close when not in use is the icing on the cake!

The only downside I can see here is that your significant other is bound to become quite jealous of the love affair you can't help but have with your new favorite sketchbook!
