Comments about Cachet Classic Ecru Wirebound Sketchbooks:
I've been drawing on sketchbooks for many years. These guys' paper is so good, it will take all my inks and watercolour brushes without spreading or going through. The opacity is fantastic too.A little shame they don't seem to offer the same quality of paper in a whiter version. But cream works for most of what I do.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The best sketchbook ever.
from Rochester, NY
So I bought this sketchbook for one of my classes (it was just a sketching class) and I wanted something with some yellowed paper. First of all, the paper in this sketchbook was the perfect shade, and complimented nice with the blue pencil I use to draw with. Secondly, The paper was thicker than I thought it was going to be on anticipation for it to arrive in the mail, it was a pleasant surprise. Marker still bleeds through the other page, but unlike most sketchbooks out (like moleskine) you can, if you wanted to, draw on the back of these pages if you where just using pencil or pen, because you can't see it through the other side, it's fabulous. I filled this sketchbook up in one semester, which has never happened before, but I just loved drawing in it!I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice quality sketchbook that doesn't have white pages. It's perfect. My only complaint is that it sucks in ink like nobodies business, so drawing with a ball point pen isn't as nice with this sketchbook, but regardless, it's a great sketchbook.

Love it! Finally found what I want

I can actually put watercolor on it! the paper curls a bit for sure, but it's already so much better than the other sketch books I've had (and abandoned). What else I found really nice about it:wire binding - you can lay it flat.feeling of the cover is really nice.pages are not pure white.

This is the very best of sketch & drawing books I have used so far. It's portability and strength are an asset. The 70 lb. paper works really well with graphite / charcoal combinations, and tortillons. The paper also takes fixative very well and dries fast. A mainstay for my work.

Great All-Around Sketchbook
By Nick from Saugerties

I do all my larger-scale sketching on the 9x12 Wirebound Ecru version. The wire binding allows you to completely fold back the cover, and the ecru tint is just off-white enough to allow the addition of highlights in white pencil/gouche if needed. The surface has a bit of tooth, which is fine for most applications (although I wish there were a smooth-surface variation: I'd buy both!) The paper feels a lot heavier than 70 lb. -- much closer to cover stock -- which is fantastic: it's so opaque that you can't see through to images on underlying pages. The pages also stand up to tons of repeated erasure without messing up the surface. Next to smaller Moleskin sketchbooks, this is the only sketchbook I use.
