I have used these types of rulers for over 20 years in my art work and was thrilled with getting different sizes. I find for me they help measure more accurately. I had a 15" and now purchased a 6" and 12".

Clear rulers work better than solid ones, period, when you need precision. You can see where you need to stop. No brainer.

Short rulers sometimes don't seem like they would be very useful. And for long lines they aren't. But if you are working with many shorter lines, using ink (or anything that can smudge), you'll know why a short ruler is so great. A lot less smudges! :)

I ordered the 6 inch ruler, and it's great! It is thin and very flexible, but I think it would take a lot of bending to break it. It has an angled edge for inking, which is just the right size so it can do it's job, but not get in the way.
