Two fixatives, two purposes!
Both of these advanced colored pencil fixatives from Brush and Pencil are non-toxic, non-yellowing, non-darkening, acid-free, and odor-free. Both dry and harden within minutes.
Advanced Colored Pencil Final Fixative
This fixative provides long-lasting protection for colored pencil drawings. 9 oz aerosol can.
Advanced Colored Pencil Textured Fixative
This fixative enables virtually unlimited layering by restoring tooth to the painting surface, with minimal effect on established values or colors. It isolates previous layers and makes them resistant to subsequent application of water, alcohol, or odorless mineral spirits. It also provides the ability to apply chromatic colors onto black/dark surfaces without white underpainting, and allows development of the form from "dark to light" and "light to dark." 9 oz aerosol can.

Brush and Pencil Advanced Colored Pencil Fixatives UPDATE
By Bebe M
Comments about Brush and Pencil Advanced Colored Pencil Fixatives:
My first review was not good . I also wrote that I would up date as I got to know the product better . Well I found we shouldn't be rushed by having to write reviews so soon . So ok here is my update . Best thing to do is your research , watch lots of videos on the Pencil and Brush site or on YOUTUBE .I bought the Colored Pencil Touch-Up Texture from the B&P site and contacted them about my order and I had the great pleasure to talk to the creator herself Alyona Nickelsen ( I didn't know who I was talking to till the end of our conversation) . Alyona was so helpful in helping me understand her products . I did a lot better on my next portrait try and plan on watching many more videos and practice practice practice . I'm wanted to change my review to that these products change the way you ever thought colored pencil's work . It 's really more like painting . I recommend them if you love colored pencil and want a fabulous new experience .
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

For Dark Paper and for Extra Layering with Colored Pencils
from Pemberton, NJ
The textured spray is a MUST when layering with colored pencils! The ACP Textured Fixative creates a nice gritty texture that colored pencils grip to. I have used this product over my Pan Pastels in order to add tooth to my paper again for adding multiple layers of colored pencil. On dark paper like Artagain Coal Black Paper by Stathmore, a pre-layer of the ACP Textured Fixative will help intensify the initial colored pencil layer and keep the pigment from being absorbed into the paper.I plan on buying the ACP Final Fixative in the near future because I believe that this is a fantastic product, which are the basic staples for all colored-pencil users who want to take their artwork to a professional level.#Sweepstakes

I specifically purchased this product because it was noted for Colored Pencil and the name of Nichelson behind it. Yes, it's a good product. Time will tell if there are any unseen issues. When I first applied the textured fixative, I was aghast at the white droplets, but they quickly cleared as it dried. The texture worked fine to finish off my drawing. It might have made a real mess if I had used any Derwent Intense pencils on this drawing. The final fixative on Stonehenges' Kraft paper curled the paper a bit. Hopefully framing the drawing will help.

A staple for colored pencil artists
from Prince George Va
If you are a colored pencil artist then this product should be a staple in your supply drawer. It is used in conjunction with "Brush and Pencil's" Powder Blender and final fixatives and it will greatly improve your ability to cover large areas with a nice smooth hue of colored pencil pigment. It makes background work so much easier and the end result is a much more professional rendition of your artwork. It's also great on human skin tone work and portrait artists will love this stuff. The owner "Alyona Nickelson" is well known in the colored pencil world and is a superb artist in her own right. If you ever have an issue or a problem with any of her problems her communication and customer service is nothing less than superb!

Great tooth but still had wax bloom
By CP artist
I really liked how this product gave me a nice surface to draw on. I didn't smudge the work below and it gave me a lot of tooth. As far as a fixative it did not stop the wax bloom at all. I also had to go over the black background as it added a whitish snow but, it was really easy. I would recommend this product to other colored pencil artists.G

Bright Colors on Black!
By COLORED PENCIL Magazine
from Graham, NC
Unlimited layers is just the beginning of what the texture fixative can do. If you like creating on black, this will blow your mind . . . get bright colors on dark like you've never experienced before but make sure you use multiple layers of fixative before you start. Use final fixative to protect your finished art. Both dry quick and work best on a ridged surface.
