its good, but yes, its uncoated and sharp
from California, USA
I purchased this hanging wire on the quest to experiment with a variety of different hanging methods and hardware for canvas paintings. This wire is good for what it is -- uncoated wire. Yeah, its rough. Yes, you can possibly cut up your hands. But that's what it is. This shouldn't be a surprise. The benefit? It ties/winds beautifully and does NOT unwind (opposed to most "coated" wires). But does the pro outweigh the con? Maybe, depending on the coated wire you're comparing it with. However, in searches I did find what I feel is clearly the best coated professional hanging wire that doesn't unwind -- similar to un-coated wires -- yet is still smooth and easy to work with due to the coating. It took a while to find, but that's the wire I use for my paintings....not this rough, uncoated stuff.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Okay, but difficult to cut
from Western North Carolina
I found the wire difficult to cut, but otherwise easy to handle and of good quality.
I like this product and use it regularly

I use this wire to attach to the back of the Eco frames on the triangle loops that are fastened to the backing of the frames. The wire works well and can make it secure for hanging. I wrap masking tape over the twisted ends as to protect the wall and peoples hands when hanging my art work.
Better than what I get locally

There are more expensive and higher quality wires available but I was surprised how nicely this wire works and feels. It is smoother and I get fewer wiry finger pokes when I use it. I would like larger coils instead of buying small packets.

Good product, wonderful price. As mentioned in other reviews would be nice to have a package with more wire, longer length. Good packaging and fast delivery as well.
Good price &quality, need more on a coil
Good product but would like to have more wire on a coil. Coil is too small.

I didn't think there was a difference in wire. But there is . This wire works great, and I believe made in the good old USA.
I like this wire

This is a good wire to invest in. Most of my collections consist of multiple canvases so I use a lot of wire. I was purchasing my wire from a local art store but it would hurt my hands because the ends were not tightened enough. With this wire I can tell the difference. It is light weight but I believe you can hang up to 20 pounds with it. That works for me because most of my canvases don't weigh tons. This is a good bargain for the money. It's not as thick as the one that I was using but thicker does not mean better. If you want to use wire for maybe much larger or heaver collections I'm sure you can always buy wire that will support that. Most of mine are 24x24 or 18x24 so this works great for me.
