For nearly 45 years I have exclusively used pens and markers for my illustrations. During this time I have only used two different papers. For about 35 years I used Bainbridge number 172 hot press illustration board.This was until I discovered Borden And Riley's Paris Bleed-Proof Paper.My colors never looked brighter and other then Copic Markers slight bleeding, Their bleed-proof trademark is solid. I use the 19x24 size and am glad that Blick now carries the larger pad...at ,of course, the lowest price.

I use this paper for most of my marker commissions. takes copics really well, as well as sakura, pitt, uni pin, and copic sp pens.I have never had any issue as far as bleeding, about the only thing that would be any sort of a drawback is how thin the paper is. that actually works best for markers though. anything thicker and you'd just be saturating the paper over and over as it absorbed the ink. overall a great paper to work with.

I'm confused by all the good reviews this paper has received.

I purchased this a while ago to use with my copics and only got to properly try it out a few nights ago. While the colours look lovely the bleed was atrocious. I was really upset, after spending hours inking a piece, to find that even a small amount of layering copic ink, it bled like crazy outside of the lines to a point beyond repair.

I would reccomend this to people only if they don't intend to put much more than linework down.

The paper is really nice, smooth and handles ink lines well. However, when brushed with nice solid areas of black ink the paper did have a little buckle to it in those areas after it dried. Those who "paint" large black areas may want to try a paper or board that is thicker and has more weight to it.

A friend in portrait group gave me a sheet.. I used acrylic paint on it... done in a wash.. It was fantastic.. didn't buckle.. the colors remained vibrant, didn't bleed around or spread where I didn't want it to.. I got a really great painting on it. I will purchase a pad to try oil pastel on..

I use this Paper for Pencil and Ink full color artwork that will be turned into Jewelry.
This Paper is wonderful because it take color great.It is smooth and shadowing comes out perfect. The Paper reproduces very well. Copies turn out looking exactly as they so on this Paper!

I've used Borden & Riley Paris Bleedproof Paper For Pens for 5+ years. I've tried many different types of paper (and I've spent a decent amount of time and money exploring all the options available) - hands down this is the best paper for drawing with pens. Works great with black and color ink (Alvin techliners and Letraset Tria markers). Also works well with pigment based inkjet printers.

I was introduced to this product and thought I could give it a try with my markers, especially with my copics. This paper handled the ink very well! My lines are crisp, little to no feathering outside my intended lines from being super wet, and very good blending. There was a little bleeding but that could be fixed with some papers underneath.

It is very like bristol board so this is a good buy for any medium, other than markers, like colored pencils(for me that is).

Paris Bleed Proof Paper is, without question, the finest pen & ink paper available. I have done pen & ink illustrations for over 30 years and this paper is all I will use. It is superior (and much cheaper) than any illustration board available. Anyone doing pen & ink drawings MUST have this paper.
