Comments about Bockingford Tinted Paper:
Love using it in watercolor paintings. It makes the background colorful without my having to paint it. Other painters often ask how I got my background so clean looking.

Not just White for a change
from Shaker Hts,Ohio
Love the idea of having a different background paper to work on besides always white or off white. Gives a fresh look to my paintings.

For printing letterpress, this paper works best dampened. The surface is hard enough to damage lead type if not, and of course it takes ink and impression better when damp.

Lovely tinted paper
from Quincy, CA
I use this paper for much of my watercolor botanical painting and LOVE it for it's texture, the very soft color as a background, and the way paint can be manipulated on it. It does not, however, allow for a lot of scrubbing, so one just has to live with the "accidents" of watercolor.

Introduced to a group of seniors and they had a blast playing with it. Couldn't have bleach in our location so will have to wait for spring to get outside.
Love this paper!

I love the hues of this paper; great to work with!
Bockingford Watercolour Paper
Its a really nice paper - the slight colour gives ink drawings an authentic old feel. Also it allows you to be really precise in ink brushwork as it doesn't bleed. Also the delivery overseas from US was excellent, so quick and efficient, and the price even with postage is good value.

Not my first choice, but good value for
from MadCity, wi
Compared to some of the other major brands of artists' grade paper, this feels thinner and stiffer. The surface has a harder, less toothy feel. This is subjective, of course. It's just what I noticed when using it. On the other hand, it's a good value and the tinted sheets are attractive. They have a very subtle tint that can be emphasized as a feature, or it just blends in depending on how you work. If you are a novice at watercolor, this is a better choice than most student grade papers. The 140 weight is a safe bet. It will hold up to a lot of wetting, and you can lift wet color off pretty easily. This paper does curl more than average when wet, but it flattens out as it dries. You can stretch it if you like, but I never do. Just taping the edges to a board with masking tape works for me. Bottom line: I like Arches, Fabriano Artisco and Saunders better, but that's just my preference. This is an okay paper that doesn't cost a fortune.
