Welcome to dickblick
Instant papier maché! It has all the properties of original papier maché, but with no newspapers to cut up, and no flour or wheat paste to buy.
Blick's Mix is easy to prepare and easy to model. It dries white, and is very lightweight. Furnished in dry form, it mixes with water and is ready for modeling immediately.
Blick's Mix starts to set up in about 30 minutes, at which time fine modeling and smoothing the surface is easy. Once they are dry, sculptures can be sanded, sawed, drilled, and decorated with any type of paint.
Shake the bag before opening to thoroughly mix the material, because some settling may occur in shipping.
Note — Any combination of clay, plaster, sand, and molding material totaling 50 lbs or more does not qualify for our free shipping offer.

Comments about Blick's Mix Instant Papier Maché:
Get used to the shrinkage, best if formed over something. Takes dyes and paint well.

My 8 year old daughter loved this
By Happy dancer

My daughter and I used this papier mache mix, instead of traditional newspaper and paste, to coat an animal armature, about 12" high. It seemed difficult to mix at first, I started out with too little water, and ended up with a surprising amount of dusty white clouds. I made sure to start with more water on subsequent batches, then added a little more mix to thicken up if needed. Had trouble getting this to stick to vertical paper towel roll parts of armature, but my normally impatient daughter, worked with it and got it to stick. The texture is different than if we had used newspaper and glue, sort of like cottage cheese the way we were mixing it, but we both enjoyed working with this mix, and we are already planning additional projects using it. We went through almost a whole 1 lb. bag on the first layer, so I was glad I had ordered an extra bag. Thanks for the great product, I was delighted to see my daughter so excited with her art project!!
This works great!

Creating figure sculptures standing 9-14 inches high with tin foil as the armature-this stuff works great. 2nd graders are using this product and it works beautifully. I highly recommend it! Thanks Blick.

I used this product as part of a homeschool art curriculum (Artisic Pursuits). We were supposed to make a sculpture of an animal. This was way too messy, hard to model, and two days later the creations are still wet. We only ordered this product because it was on the shopping list for the class listed under Blick U. Next time I will use Crayola's air dry modeling clay.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
