Love this sketchbook! Paper is dreamy smooth and works well for ink, oil pastels, pencil colors, and markers. The ring binder and hard covers make it easy to use even outdoors. And the 7X10 size makes it perfect to travel with.I will buy this again and again!

Great sketch book

For working in plein air the pages are optimal for dividing in quarters to do quick notan and/or value and compositional sketches to see what works Before one starts painting. Of course great for jotting down conceptual ideas for painting as well.

Blick Paper Comprable To Strathmore
By M. Natz
from Chicago, Il
I used this particular product for charcoal and graphite sketches (I do a lot of rough figure drawing and faces). The paper has a nice weight and quality to it. I would compare it to Strathmore, smooth 3-400 series, if you're familiar with that quality. It's not quite cardstock, but a bar below that. Creates a nice render. (Unless you're someone who likes tooth to your paper... I do not).I prefer a spiral-bound as it tends to hold together a bit better then the book bound ones. Also, more easibility for working from page to page. It's always a flat service, you don't have to worry about the bend that is created when being the front or tail end of the book bound ones that make it a little more of a nuisance to draw.

These sketchbooks were perfect for our purposes. Would recommend these to anyone in need of a small, blank sketchbook.

I have 5 art classes at college -- each require a sketchbook. The price on these is fantastic plus the paper has a great surface for sketching. I have used pencil, color pencil and copic markers (with a blotter underneath) and all work perfectly. I will definitely buy again. I have been promoting them in my art classes.
