Comments about Blick Water-Soluble Block Printing Inks:
This ink spread easily and worked very well for the students prints. It was easy to get out the container, which saved me for cleaning up.

I'm a high school teacher. I ordered Blick inks over the summer and now, 6 months later, they are very poor quality. The ink gets very tacky and blotchy. Print quality is very uneven. If you really over-ink the rubber block, it will work okay, but then you lose details. After troubleshooting, the ink is kind of usable if you add an acrylic slow dry medium to them, but they still are frustrating to work with. I haven't run into this issue before, so I'm not sure if it is a bad batch or what. (It's not a storage environment concern...the ink has been in the same temp room since being purchased).
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Best for the Classroom
By Heather Elaine

I use these inks for my art classroom. Students enjoy working with these inks while we are printing. The inks also don't break the budget so I am able to do more printmaking with my K-8 classes.
Great turquoise color can't wait for my class to use it

Bought the silver and the odor was so toxic. This was purchased over a year ago. Not recommended for classroom use. Was so disappointed as we were doing a space theme.
Good ink for linoleum block printing
By Mo G, amateur printmaker

So far, I'm happy with this ink. I just made a whole bunch of linoleum block prints for Christmas cards. I used red and blue ink. Nice colors. The wet ink stays workable for as long as needed - as it started to dry after a half hour or so on the squidger, I just added a few drops of water and squidged to mix. Printing went fine. The only bad possibility now is that the ink will fade or otherwise change color, or crack, or flake, or otherwise decompose over the coming years. The price was acceptable - about the best I could find with a quick search.
Blick Review on Printmaking supplies....

My students love these inks. They are buttery and have a high degree of saturation in all the colors. For the cost they are by far the best inks around for block printing. I will be back!
I have used this ink for several years in my middle school art classes. It doesn't dry out like some of the other similar water-soluble brands. It is easily spreadable and has a good consistency. The colors are incredibly vibrant! I have used this on rubber and linoleum linocuts. I have only printed on paper. I am wondering if this would work printing on fabric? If so how would you cure it?

I'm fairly new to the printmaking game, so I'm still getting my feet wet with what materials are good, what aren't, etc. I've been using primarily Speedball products from the start, and I've found that this Blick printing ink is way more my speed, (ha.) The Speedball inks that I've tried seem to dry too fast, transfer unevenly, and are overall a bit fussier for me as a novice printmaker. But after picking up a tube of the black Blick ink, I'm a fan! The transfer is much smoother and I'm just overall more pleased with the outcome using this ink. I would definitely recommend this ink; it's a great value for a great product!
I recommend it!

Like the tube format much better than the ink in a tub. Easy to squeeze on, washes of well , good consistency. Good for kid projects too!
Good Student Quality

Ink coverage is excellent! I would prefer a less matte and more sheen. Also I think this ink could be more flexible - some flaking occurs.
