I am a beginning, self taught, artist and I knew the best way to train my hands is by tracing existing photos, I was directed to this paper by the Blick staff and it was on sale. I wish I was smart enough to have asked if there was anything MORE transparent on the market. I found this "tracing" paper covered up 75% of what I was trying to trace. Not transparent enough at all for my needs.

Blick's tracing paper is too opaque and a bit too flimsy. I bought this for a drawing class for my instructor to do 'draw overs' and also for homework head studies over photos and print out. It's difficult to see edges and planes in the under image clearly at all. Compare this to the Canson, canson's foundation paper (red cover) is MUCH more transparent, but not weak junky paper, good quality and only 96 cents more for the big pad, virtually same price.
I wish I didn't waste money on blick's stuff. However, their service and shipping was good as always, just a weak product compared to others, and it wasn't much a savings.

I only mention canson's paper because it was available to be compared to in my class. Maybe there are ever better brands. But this blick stuff certainly is inferior in transparency to canson's tracing paper for virtually the same price.

Perhaps it's not a big deal for some super quick stuff. But spend the extra few quarters and get something that won't fight with you.
