screen printing frame cord
from Gasport, New York
Comments about Blick Tite-Stretch Cord:
I have been screen printing signs and T-shirts for over thirty-five years. Throughout my printing career, I have depended on Dick Blick for quality and service. I stretch my own screens with the cord and fabric from Blick. I buy the frames from Blick as well! Dick Blick ships quick!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This Cord Saves Lives
By Jen, all covered in ink

I would be lost without this cord... as a silkscreener, I have to tighten the silkscreen on my frames daily, but with this perfect size cord, I find myself doing it only once a month. Great product, fast shipping, all around ROCK.
Not a tight fit.

When used with the blick frames, this cord does not hold the mesh in the frame for very long.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Wear and Tear Issues
I have some doubts about this product based on repeated use and a side-by-side comparison with the synthetic cord that comes with Speedball pre-stretched frames. After stretching 10xx fabric using Blick's wooden screen frames and printing/washing, some of my screens became very loose. These screens had to be tightened with a cord setter after washing and emulsion removal. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be much of an issue. My screens, however, are all sealed with water resistant tape after the fabric has been stretched. This means that loose screens can only be reset after removing tape. The problem doesn't occur on screens stretched with the synthetic cord that comes with Speedball pre-stretched screens. This leads me to wonder if the Blick Tight Stretch Cord becomes loose when wet. It appears to be a natural fiber product similar to rope and, thus, more susceptible to water than synthetic cord.
