I just wish it came in some smaller sizes
from Rainsville, Alabama
This is great paper. The only issue I have with it is its water retention. I will do a water wash for watercolors and the water will dry on the paper very quickly. I would like to see an 8 x 10 version for smaller paintings.

It IS a studio grade paper
I used this paper for water color. I didn't try to stretch the paper, like soak the paper in water then tape down with gum paper tape till it dries. I simply taped down the edges with normal tape, and it buckled to the point that it was ripping the tape off the board. It is, however, a pretty cheap watercolor paper, and I was able to paint on it. But, I wouldn't use it for serious class works.

I ordered 100 sheets of 22" x 30" watercolor paper. I have done the same from other sources but the corners were not well protected so you might get sheets with a bend on one corner. The Blick package was well protected at the corners so no bends! When you order by mail you do not want the trouble of damaged goods or something that has to be sent back. Packaging is important and I am glad Blick recognizes that.

Thicker Studio Paper for Students
from Ogden, UT
I use this watercolor paper with my more advanced students. It's a great weight and more durable than most classroom papers for watercolor.

no deckled edges
It's absorption is ok, and its ok for average work, but the cotton content or richness is not there, and I miss the deckled edges. Just average. For nicer pieces, I will stick with Arches.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Exactly how it should be
from Lawrence, KS
This paper is a nice consistant mid grade paper. It has a percentage of wood pulp that makes it durable, with enough cotton to give a nice surface texture. I prefer it to any paper I've tried (including most of the big names across all quality ranges). I use it for full sheet and half sheet paintings, and I also fold it up to make sketch-pads.Other student and acedemic grade papers seem cardboard-y to me, while the full artist quality papers seem too fragile for the way I work.
