Welcome to dickblick
Step up to real Kolinsky Sable sourced from the cold northwest region of Asia. The natural snap and the impressive capacity of these brushes are their hallmark.
Slightly "softer" than our Blick Master series, they impart a lush wash, and a pleasing point.
A pointed round brush with shorter hair and a fine point for precise, detail work.
Extra Pointed Round
An extra pointed round brush with a long tapered reservoir for holding a lot of color, and an extra long, central pointed tip.
Set of 5 Brushes
Includes three Rounds (Sizes 1, 8, and 14), one Detail Round (Size 1), and one Full Belly Round (Size 6).

First Brush, Very Pleased
from Greenville, SC
Comments about Blick Studio Sable Round:
I started painting miniatures and saw a few reviews online for the dick studio series. This was my first paint brush purchase ever and so I decided to do it right and buy a Kolinsky Sable hair brush. So glad I did. This brush paints so nicely, and I am confident it will last me years as long as I care for it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Real sable with savings
By Grammaw Watercolors
Comments about Blick Studio Sable Brushes:
The is great for watercolor especially on cold pressed paper, holding color and water longer than fake sable, and the Blck version is soundly constructed.
Did not like :(
Blick brand is usually pretty decent but I'm not a fan of this brush at all. There is no tapered point, (maybe for the first couple of uses but that's it). The bristles fray easily and it is very "scratchy" and stiff bristled and leaves lots of lines when painting. Not what I expected out of a pricey sable brush. They are the only sable brushes that are in with my junk brushes now. Very poor quality sable, unfortunately. You're better off spending a little more on a better brush.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Blick Studio Sable Round Detail Brush Size #1
from New York, New York
Comments about Blick Studio Sable Detail Round:
This brush left me a little disappointed. The bristles weren't as firm as I would have hoped for a detail brush, and I currently have a size #3 that can produce much finer lines then this #1. The bristles simply not form a fine enough tip. Also after a few uses with a light touch, the bristles started to separate and flare.

the reverse mullet brush
from greater Philadelphia area
Comments about Blick Studio Sable Extra Pointed Round:
After reading the description, "the Extra Pointed Round offers a long, tapered point for extra carrying capacity" and seeing the other reviews, I was excited to receive this brush. However, I was sorely disappointed when it finally arrived. The shape of the brush is not at all what the description indicates. There is no long tapered point. There is a bunch of long hairs that are all one length. They are surrounded by a bunch of shorter hairs. Instead of tapering to a long cohesive point, the brush has two separate 'levels.' The long center section sticks up out of the middle like a bad haircut! It's almost as though someone stuck a rigger brush into a smaller round without integrating the two in any way. The description "extra pointed round" is a misnomer -- perhaps "reverse mullet brush" might have been a better name. Had I seen this brush in person beforehand, I never would have ordered it.

Great Brushes for Painting Miniatures
By Wargamer 4 Life
from Grand Rapids, MI
I mostly paint miniatures and love these brushes. Most of my collection is 28mm and 10mm. The points on these are great for for all sorts of detail work. I usually use a size 0 when painting 28mm figures and a size 1 for 10mm. I find that a little bit bigger brush coats the 10mm figures with less strokes. The point is so good that I can do almost all of the detail work without changing brushes. The 0 brush also holds enough paint that I can use it for layering 28mm figures as well. Some of the best brushes I have worked with and the price is hard to beat.
Nice New Brush To Add To Collection
from Toronto, Ontario, Canada
This is the first time I have purchased these extra pointed brushes, and I really like them. They are great for the fine detail work that I do. I did not realize how thin and pointed they would be, but once I started working with them, I loved the ability for detail that they gave me. My friends are also impressed with the brushes and I think I will have to order some for them.
