I've used these markers for about a year - they stay much juicier than Prisma Pens (which dry out at a fantastic rate, AND run out quickly). I use them almost every day and they are my new "go-to" pens. HOWEVER, I say proceed with caution because at least 10 of the pens were defective. The fine point end was one color and the broad point nib on the other end had a different shade. If I started out doing some detail area with say, salmon and then flipped it over to use the broad nib to fill in a larger area, the pigment might come out darker (and in other colors lighter). So irritating. Unfortunately I didn't get the pens back to Blick within 30 days so I had to live with it. I did call the store in Berkeley where I purchased them and told them of the problem. I got some sympathy from a fellow artist clerking there, but otherwise - well, tough luck. Judging from other comments here Blick should be doing some fiercer quality control.

I LOVE these markers! I had been using Prismacolor for years, but they are just so expensive. The Dick Blick markers interested me so I bought a few at first just to try them out. They are great! They work/look just like the Prismacolor. The only downside is that the nib on the broad side of the marker is made of a different material than the Prismacolor ones- and it is a little bit harder to control, but with a bit of practice you can get it down. I will probably never buy the Prismacolor or Copic Markers again because you can get the same result with Dick Blick and they are about a third of the price.

i think that the markers are great, they dont leave too many lines and are good for solid colors, as well as blending to some degree. for the price that they are, im amazed. However, without the correct type of paper thay will either bleed or leave hard lines. if you're thinking of buying some of them, make sure you also get some decently think paper and you'll be fine.
For people who are trying to get skin tones, get the lightest color possible. Some colors look a lot darker than they do in the catalog

Thoroughly enjoyable. Odor is not too strong. Versatile. I can layer the colors to achieve a variety of textures and color mixes. A couple of pens came on the dry side, though. I'm getting what I can out of them.

I use this product for my artwork. What I do not like is that the ink is so heavy, it goes through the paper, while black markers don't do that. I love the color, and the two sized tips, and the transparency. I would like to have more info about the long-term quality of the product:
archival? light-fast? and about the health/safety issues related to this product.

I purchased the set of 96. I couldn't resist the price. Unfortunately, there was something wrong with nearly half the markers. Some were dried out and/or others were not true to color. For example, "sand" was dried out and orange; "canary yellow" came out streaky and reddish; "horizon blue" was dry, etc.

The colors that weren't dry or otherwise faulty DID actually blend well. However, due to the above-listed issues that occurred in nearly half the markers in this set, I just cannot recommend these markers to anyone.

Extremely dry. Almost useless after one use. Broad end is not chiseled like similar products. These are obviously cheaply made. I absolutely would not purchase these markers again and I would not recommend them to anyone. Spend a few bucks more to get something worth your money.

For its price, I would say the Blick markers are very good. Generous laydown with the added fine line and chisel tip. I still like the Prismacolors because they have a wider range of colors but you can't find a better marker at this price.
