We start with a 7 oz, pre-primed 100% cotton duck canvas and add 3 coats of acid free titanium gesso. Final post primed, finished weights reach approximately 10.5 oz. This canvas is then hand stretched and stapled around solid wood stretchers. You can forget about time consuming preparation. Studio canvas is the perfect balance of high quality and economy.

The quality of these is not good enough for me. My last order (10 of the 30x40's) only contained 2 in perfect condition. 6 had minor dings and nicks. The remaining 2 were so badly damaged (the front edge of the stretcher bars was mashed in places) that I asked for a refund. The damage was not from shipping, it was from the manufacturer. (Note: Blick is GREAT about refunds. I love that.)

I'd say these canvases would be good for students, except there's no way a student needs a 1 3/8" gallery-wrap canvas, so actually I'm not sure who these are meant for. If you're selling your work, you probably want something more consistent.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

After much searching, DB was the best price for 1-3/8" Gallery landscape canvases! I am VERY HAPPY with my purchase and will definitely buy again. Confirmation, shipping and delivery of items was prompt! Each canvas is made very well and I will enjoy using them!

I do all of my paintings on this canvas and my work has been very well received at various art
fairs across the Mid- West...It's resilient and takes the punishment of packing and unpacking
And I haven't been able to match the prices for this quality anywhere....only negative..I ran
into one 12"x12" that was a little off in one direction....noticed when I was doing a three piece
set...I like the width and the lightness of the canvas....small ones- I hang with push- pins.

I like the bulk of the canvas. The stretcher is significant. However the canvas is not as tight as I would have hoped, but I could live with that once I get over the fact that that's the way it is.

The canvas has a tooth to it which grabs the paint too much for my liking. What I need to do is re-coat the canvas with gesso or add medium to the paint.

These things are acceptable because of the price. I like the price. I will live with the bagginess and I will work out the toothy problem myself.
