I have played around with acrylics on and off for awhile now. I received this pad along with a 12 piece set of Dick Blick acrylics for Christmas. I have had absolutely NO problems with the canvas curling. I leave the canvas on the pad while painting and remove it with an Exacto knife when finished. I'm really happy with the texture of the paper; it's finished enough to not be too rough, but still grabs the paint well. Very happy with this product! Note: I'm so not a professional artist. I'm just messing around in my spare time!

Purchased canvas pad 16x20 that was recommended by sales person at store.
Project from start to completetion took 24 hours, after 1 day of drying the canvas sheet wrinkled .
My photo realistic painting is now abstract painting.

well i love the canvas pads they do roll up when i start to paint but what i do is place the canvas on a wood block
24 by 36 and pin them down i like the ruff texture
of the canvas that's because i like the way the paint clings to the work all and all i like them

The Blick Canvas sheets (9 x 12) curled at the touch of paint. It was hard to tell which side was which. They were supposed to be triple coated with gesso, which was not the case. Even when we taped them down to boards, they curled. We will try gluing them to cardboard, since we have so many, but we should not have to do this. I have purchased canvas pads before and canvas paper...... that did not curl. This product is not the quality usually produced with the Blick name on it. It is not quality at all, far from it. I do not know what product the first reviewer received...... but our product was terrible..... just like what the second reviewer said.

Edges began to curl almost immediately when paint was applied to canvas. Solution seems to be applying several coats of gesso to backside of canvas. Even that approach requires patience and perserverience to get the canvas to lay flat. Very frustrating.

I love using this canvas pad...I bought the 9 x 12 inch size and the sheets are wonderful for using with acrylic paints. I'll definetely buy this product again! They are the perfect size for my mixed media projects.
