i use this product with acrylic paints, and it's just so great. a refreshing change from standard canvas, which is just not a solid or stable enough surface.it takes the paint really really well, the "block-like" quality is alot more clean and pleasant(looks nicer on the wall too in my opinion) and the wooden mount looks absolutely fine with that unfinished look.

I love almost everything about this product. It is well made. I love the fact that the uncradled boards are 3/8" thick compared with 1/8 by competitors.

I would love it even more if I didn't have to sand down the linen finish and add coats of gesso.

I'm not suggesting that you discontinue the linen finish, but how about adding a smooth finish.

Some of us paint on boards rather than stretched canvas because we want both the stability of the board and a pure flat surface.

I paint(write)icons. When I am working on a completely new subject, I will do a preliminary work on a board such as Blick Studio, but I really don't like the extra work of removing a finish in order to get the finish I need.

Icon commissions are done on different boards, but my samples are given as gifts to friends or remain in my possession as samples of my work.

I purchased the Blick Studio Artists' Boards to use for mixed media collages. They are well made and the surface is wonderful. I am very happy with these boards and will definitely buy more.

The surface allows a vast variety of treatments, from very wet and thin to super thick. It's a super solid substrate for adhering pretty much anything to the surface. The finished edge is crisp and well suited to be painted or stained or left au natural. The price cannot be beat. I love them.
