This is an excellent all-around workhorse for students painting with thicker, heavier colors. Dependable craftsmanship gives this brush nice balance. The hairs offer good resiliency and snap.

The price was right, but I tried to paint an acrylic painting on 6x6 canvas, and the smallest brush was just too wimpy and kept flopping around. It was very frustrating trying to paint any kind of detail. If you're painting in watercolor or thin washes these brushes might be okay, or if you only use the larger brushes for painting less detailed areas. But painting tight detailed work with thicker paint is beyond the smaller brushes, I'm afraid.

I use this brush in my beginning watercolor classes, like all natural haired watercolor brushes they are soft, so as to not damage the papers surface, and hold a lot of liquid. It holds up pretty good to being packed, transported and used by lots of students. Down side is that they are a bit floopy and fluffy better than most though for the price.
