Blick proudly presents an innovative new idea in relief printmaking!
Blick Readycut is an exclusive product developed to take the guesswork out of relief printing. Created by fusing a thin layer of a traditional gray carving block to a thicker white block, Blick Readycut allows artists to simply carve away the gray layer to reveal the white — and instantly see how their image will look printed.
Trace an image on the block — or carve directly for spontaneous creativity. Blick Readycut eliminates repetitive inking, proofing, and cleaning because adjustments and additions are easy to see.
Blick Readycut has an infinite shelf life and is soft enough for all levels of student to work with.
Available in a variety of sizes, Blick Readycut plates measure 5 mm thick.

Tricky to carve
Comments about Blick Readycut:
I purchased this for my students to use and find it difficult to cut cleanly. The carving tend to not break away easily and stretch as they are pulled off. The darker gray surface is a bit thicker than ideal and one of the plates arrived with an impression in it that showed up inn the print.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Soft as butter, but loves to stretch in the print machine
By Confused Printer
from Conway, AR
I used this product to produce a lino cut for my printmaking class. Compared to some other brand I won't mention, you can carve through this linoleum like butter. The only issue is that its soft nature means it wants to stretch out designs more compared to the harder linos.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Easy for beginner
By Mary the fiber artist

Even as a beginner, it was easy to carve a design to transfer using paint sticks and fabric. The gray and white layers really helped to achieve an even depth. Designs would have to be reversed for stamping or printing.I only wish it had come with some directions or suggestions for uses.

Nice product, nice results
from Adalusia, Spain
I have been cutting linoleum for twenty years. This product is the most sturdy, flexible, easy to cut, and with the best detail in printing. It does not become grainy or offer "boogers" when carving. It does not seem to change with age, or degrade. If careful when cutting one can achieve marvelous detail. The two-tone quality is especially nice, to really image how it will look when printed. I only wish it came in larger sizes. Much larger!

not great for fine detail
from Mobile, AL
It's nice to see the color difference when you cut, but the material is very rubbery and it's difficult to get fine detail.
Great product, can you get a bigger size
from San Francisco
I've used this product for a year now, it's very easy to cut and gives great detail when printing.I'm looking to print on a bigger scale and really want to use this again, do block provide this Lino in 24 inch x 36 inch size?
This is the easiest linoleum to cut that I have found for such a good price. I mostly hand roll my prints at home but I recently used a professional press and the results were great, just needed to lift the press up as to much pressure was spreading the block out.I am looking at creating a bigger print but still want to use this great product, is there anywhere I can get this linoleum in 24 inch x 36 inch big?If not what would be the best option to a similar product?

Love the ReadyCut blocks!
The Readycut blocks were recommended by a fellow colleague and having used the pink eraser type of block in the past with only average results, I was skeptical. However these blocks are great, not too hard or soft. The gray on the surface provides a nice way to get detail, but also allows you to see what your print will look like while you are still cutting.
