Surprised for the size (24x30) that it didn't come with keys/biscuits for the corners. Otherwise very happy with the 7/8th profile, heavy duty feel, and the hand-spline look in the back.

Overall I love Dick Blick, and I order supplies from them all the time. But I am disappointed with their stretched canvas products. This Traditional Premier canvas is another example of a stretched canvas that is too loose, and there is no way to tighten it (no keys). The surface was reasonably well primed, but it did have one defect (snag) which I decided to live with. No warping seen. I always add 2 more coats of acrylic gesso myself and then paint with oils. As with the Traditional Studio line of canvases, the price is reasonable.

I ordered five 30 X 40 canvases and two of them arrived with the stretcher frames improperly nailed together so one or more pieces of the wood frame were not fastened at all. One also had a big split in the wood. I'm also a woodworker so I was able to repair them all without much trouble, but the quality control was poor since it was obvious that the original nailing of the frames was poorly done. The canvas was smooth with no flaws like I've seen in other economy canvases, and the gesso seems adequate. They could be a little tighter, but seem to be adequate. I'll probably order these again since they are really economical and overall, decent quality.

Tuck-in-roll stretched canvas's look is aesthetically pleasing, it is an ideal surface to paint because the canvas is perfectly stretched and the wooden frame holds the canvas flat and even. It is a heavyweight canvas, and there are no staples on sides and back. I use them every day for my paintings.

This is my first time using this product. I am commissioned to paint 2 canvases 30 x 30 and after receiving the products quickly and after opening, they are soft to the touch, smooth from pre applied gesso and i can't wait to paint them! Its a pleasure to use quality products.

I ordered a small size (6x8) of these along with an 8x10 Fredrix Pro Series Dixie. The Blick canvas was miles superior to Fredrix. The Blick canvas was more taught--not to mention cleaner looking with the hand-splining-- and the gesso appeared better applied and of higher quality (no cracking). Oils worked nicely! I do mostly my own stretching but when I'm in need of something pre-stretched I'm only buying these.

I teach oil painting classes and paint myself and usually always use this canvas. I find they are consistent in texture and tightness.

never had an issue with acrylics. no warping. looks good. although with oils theres problems. the priming and canvas weight is insufficient.

oil has soaked through to the back of the canvas on all my paintings (5). and i only use a thin amount of oil, stain like.

This canvas is economically priced, but once again, it seems you get what you pay for. I was very disappointed in this product. The canvas hung so loosely on the stretcher bars, that the corners puckered and the stretcher bars were obvious from the front. I had to use three applications of canvas tightener to make it usable and I am still concerned that it will start sagging again.
I regret the purchase and would not recommend it.
