Belgian Linen Panel
from Ellijay, GA
Feels great to paint on, grips the paint, and is wonderful.
Extremely aggressive tooth for a linen
from Boise, ID
I don't know what kind of oil primed linen this is, but if feels more like a cheap acrylic-primed canvas. You can prime your own acrylic - you don't need to buy an expensive oil-primed linen (besides they don't do that great a job on it). This surprisingly rough surface forced me to rub in the thinner layers, whereas with the same paint/medium mixture on any other oil-primed linen panel I've used, I could simply glide on thin layers from the start. I managed to make it work, but it was WORK. There are many better choices at Blick, even higher grade acrylic-primed canvas (e.g. W-N Pro) would be better and cheaper.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

great gift of linen canvas
from Richmond, VA
I love painting on linen canvasses so when my sister said she wanted to build a studio for her art teacher husband, I recommended linen canvasses. #sweepstakes
The perfect canvas
from Eudora, KS
I wanted a changed, from cotton canvas to Belgian linen. I am ecstatic with the quality linen canvas I received from Dick Blick, and the great value! I will be painting on linen from now on, and I will be purchasing those canvases from Dick Blick!

Great quality, great price
from Doylestown, PA
This is great for anyone looking to get into painting on linen, but don't have the budget for linen canvass stretched on a frame. The tooth is what I'd expect from a linen canvass, and the board is sturdy and firm - much more-so than the cotton panel version. Although stretched canvass is the best for professional pieces, linen on board is great for those starting out who want their pieces to last.
