Plein air panel of excellent quality.

One of my 2 top favorites for PLEIN AIR PAINTING
from Santa Rosa, CA
Using both water-soluble oils, mostly Holbein Duo's and traditional oil paint, I find I do prefer these oil primed panels….the paint sticks nicely, & when wiped off I adore the remains….the depth fits my pochade box well, and doesn't warp like other brands.

Good product and price
from Bowling Green, Ohio
The color of my oil paints shows up really nice. However the tooth is a bit too rough for me, I wish they offered a smoother surface to these oil primed panels, then it would get a 5 star rating from me.

Not terribly impressed
from Seattle, WA
This is a solid enough board for painting, and a good value. I was expecting a nicer finish though for linen. This was just as rough as cotton canvas board, and although it's double-primed, it felt almost unfinished. I had to put down 2 more coats of primer and sand them to get it to a surface I liked. I got the oil primed and I wish they'd specify whether it was lead white primed, or titanium or zinc. Especially since I had to sand it.Not bad, just stay away if you like smooth surfaces.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Blick Belgian linen panel
used with acrylic. seems to be good quality tho a little rougher than I expected.
great stable surface
from Tampa, FL
I heard about Belgian linen on a board surface from a youtube by Thomas Kincade who said he made his own. Blick saves me the trouble. The Eagle photographer who scans and digitizes my paintings for prints likes them too. I buy the 18 by 24 and the 16 by 20 and am very pleased with them. It makes more sense to use the panels to avoid stability issues like cracking.

Beautiful and affordable Linen Panels
I getting into painting on linen canvases and found Blick's affordable and easy to paint on. I paint mainly small oil portraits. The paints glides on easily. I would highly recommend it to anyone who just starting out on linen.
I purchased this because it is linen and I am doing portraits. The price is very good compared to the rest. My one disappointment was it is bumpier than I expected. Otherwise it works well with oil paints.
