Beautiful mats at a great price. Sometimes they aren't packed carefully enough for shipping, allowing them to rattle around in the box and denting the corners. When packed properly with cardboard spacers, this isn't a problem.

As ever, good service.
The matts are a good solid black, sturdy and perfect for digital photos from the printer. The backing is also sturdy. I plan to put the pics in a folding bin for sale and these are just the ticket to make it look professional without too much investment on anyone's part. Only problem was a scratch that had been "repaired" with black marker or similar. I could have sent it back but was so $%^& busy that it will be okay for what I need.

This multi-pak combination of archival mat & mounting board offers convenience and excellent quality at a reasonable price. The 5"x 5" opening is particularly welcome, as it's difficult to find a pre-cut square opening mat at any price. The wide borders lend importance to even the smallest piece of art. Beautiful!

What more could you need! Archival, solid, the corners are perfect, no over cut.....8ply, pre-cut. Black all the way through. I was greatly impressed, and very inexpensive. Just don't know how it would stand up to sun light, but then again you wouldn't want your art work in the sun. I highly recommend it.

Maybe it is my fault. Since these were sold for 11x14 artwork I had assumed that the hole would be a bit smaller so the photo would overlap the back of the mat. The hole is exactly 11x14. This makes it almost impossible to attach photos.

I usually use the Lineco See-Thru Mounting Strips but for this job I made T-Hinges with Lineco Japanese Hinging Paper. Not nearly as nice, harder to do, harder to get right and still, the photo catches on the edge of the mat hole.

I called Blick and asked about it. Support suggested using an adhesive on the back of the photo and gluing it to the backing board. Not good, that will buckle over time.

And finally, they are not hinged and are difficult to hinge since the backing board is a different ply than the mat board.

I was disappointed as I was matting digital prints. The openings may be "slightly smaller," but one would expect it to be small enough to hide the edges of the advertised size print. It doesn't. No matter how hard I tried, not one of the 10 I ordered covered all 4 edges of my prints.

As far as the material, the quality was good, and would work well for a drawing. The matt board was thick. Looked good except for the slightly crumpled corners from shipping.

The archival museum-quality matboard is tops, and not much more money than regular matboard. The double-thick (8-ply) cotten board and the deeper bevel makes my art look like what I see on the walls of museums. The look is sensational for the cost.
