Blick’s own plaster cloth rolls of pre-shrunk cotton gauze fabric are impregnated with Plaster of Paris.
They’re simple to use; just cut and dip strips of plaster cloth in warm water, then apply it layer over layer on wire armatures, cores, and body parts. When dry, Blick Plaster Cloth can be sanded, painted, and sealed. Setting times may vary.

Non Artist Loves This Product
from New York NY
I am a non-artist who took to a project to paper mache a series of plastic manniquins for my restaurant. This is the best product in the world - easy to use - not very messy - and handled so well...I looked professional and amazed my colleagues. The price is great and i am very happy. I told my husband that if he sat still too long i might paper mache him!

After having finally used the last of the 5 lb. box of 8" PlasterCraft cloth I purchased many, many years ago, I found that I needed a great deal more for the projects I had in mind. Finding that DickBlick carried a similar product I decided to try it out. It works well. Not as well as the older product which had a more soluble plaster dust in-bedded in it but overall it works just as well if you make sure to smooth over the surface w/ wet fingers smudging the plaster to smoothness. And sadly I could not find another @8" which was really nice coverage. Oh, and it IS affordable.

I used this to make a face cast, for a home-made Halloween mask. It showed up at my door very quickly, and the product worked great for me! Will definitely be buying more.
Plaster cloth- great price, great product
from Oakland, CA
We created plaster strip masks on plastic forms. Students had the option of working with a partner and applying strips to a student face smeared with petroleum jelly. Students loved the process. Once the initial form was made, attachments were easily made constructed from cardboard and then covered with plaster strips, or rolling up wet strips and attaching those pieces. Much easier than paper mache. 150 students used approximately 150 yards of material.

I use this product to make Egyptian masks with my 10th graders. They apply the strips to their faces and make a mask of their face. The product is great to work with and my students love the project.

Plaster Cloth versus Papier Mache
By Larry the Builder
from Chickasha, Oklahoma
I am building tunnels for a Train Layout and thinking about different things to add to my design. I know different people make papier mache in different ways but playing with wet paper with glue isn't for me. My only mistake with the Plaster Cloth I had never worked with it and didn't order enough. Also you can paint it very well.
I will order this product over and over.

My husband and I are currently building two large dioramas. One for our Christmas Village and one for our Halloween Village. We started this project using a name brand plaster cloth and it was substandard and overpriced. I ordered the Blick brand for the value and my faith in Blick products. The gauze is heavier and the amount and quality of plaster is significantly superior. I know we will need more plaster cloth for the second diorama and I will definitely order this product again.
