Welcome to dickblick
Blick Mega Brushes are perfect for big projects. Our Golden Taklon brushes contain a reddish-gold filament resembling Red Sable. Dyed and baked to make them softer and more absorbent, the filaments are exceptionally easy to clean.
These brushes are a great choice for oils and acrylics because they withstand the caustic nature of solvents and acrylic paints better than brushes made using animal hair.
High-quality brush hairs are set in nickel-plated brass ferrules, assuring smooth performance, reliability, and longevity. All are securely bonded to short, lacquered hardwood handles with glue and stainless steel nails.
Mega Golden Taklon, Set of 8
This Golden Taklon set contains 8 brushes: two Round 50, two Flat 50, two Filbert 50, and two Angle 50.
Brush sizes — The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.

wonderful brushes at an affordable price

Comments about Blick Mega Golden Taklon Brushes:
I've been using these brushes on my paintings for years. I find these are the best value and quality for someone who makes a large amount of work and goes through brushes quickly. The bristles are soft and do not come out onto your paintings like cheap large brushes from a hardware store do. Great way to simplify your paintings and not overwork them.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I love my new brush!
What can I say but this is my new favorite brush. I was a little hesitant to take a chance on these but it turned out to be one of the best things I ever got. It has just the right stiffness/flex for blending out my backgrounds.
Nicely made brushes
Really like the size of these brushes and the quality of them in person. Exactly what I was looking for.
Golden Taklon brush: Round 50,
I love this brush. I like to do large paintings (24X30) and have found adding the glaze a bit challenging on this size canvas. This brush gives me a nice smooth application that results in a non-streaky shine and glaze when the process is finished and dry. It is a great brush for such a process.
Best Quality and Performance

Golden Taklon brushes meet my needs for ease of cleaning, and repeat use over a long period of time. Attribute this to quality of fabrication including stainless steel fastenings. The brushes have minimal shedding and maintain their shape after many uses.

This brush sheds and for my purpose, any brush that sheds is unusable.

A great brush for acrylic painting. I use this brush to lay down a colored ground for my paintings. Works like a dream, smooth even coverage.

Like a previous reviewer, I also have a Mega Golden in Flat #30. It's a fantastic product at a great price. Similarly large brushes can be 3 times as much (unless you count the ones made specifically for applying gesso/varnish, which also tend to be of poorer quality).I've had this brush for about a year and use it with oil and acrylic. No shedding or fraying whatsoever. The bristles are very soft but dense, so I'd rank it between medium firm to firm. I took off one star because of the handle: the lacquer finish crumbled off within the first few washes, and the wood itself has become discolored. Thankfully, neither has affected performance. The nails in the ferrule seem to give it extra support and strength. All in all, highly recommended!
they are very good brushes, I have the flat and the filbert
