I got a bunch of these as alternatives to my Silver Brush flats just to see if they compared as they are a bit less expensive (or were at the time). I've been using them since December and now I like them best of all. They hold up well and offer a quality painting experience (no shedding, no limpness, decent shape retention). I always reach for them first, clean them first and just love them to ribbons.

I got these brushes after my Escoda bristle brushes turned into cute little brooms. These are slightly softer than the Escodas, which I missed at first, but they handle beautifully. After a couple of years of use they are still nearly perfect, which makes them a great value..

I paint in oils in a realistic mode, all subjects and at a professional level. There's a Blick on my way to the studio. I have to say that these brushes are dependably fine and one can count on them. That means a lot! They are priced just fine and they look good with the black and copper. I find very little funny business regarding tweaked ferules and straggly hairs such as in most lines. I prefer the rounds in all sizes. The flats are nice and toed in just so. The filberts to me are a bit pointy. These brushes are weighted just right with not too much hair nor too little.

I am a professional oil painter. Over the years I've tried over a dozen top rated manufactures in all different price ranges. It always seemed I was trading performance for wear. I started using the masterstroke series from Blick several months ago and I love em. They push paint very well but are quite responsive at the same time. My style is pretty aggressive so brush wear is always an issue for me but these wear well without trading responsiveness. So if you've been looking for a really solid performing brush I highly recommend these.

I use acrylics, and the brushes stand up pretty well to the shading that I do, what I mean by shading is actual scrubbing like one would for creating mist, smoke or sun rays. I've been using them for a couple of weeks now, and if you know anything about this kind of technique I'm referring to you know that it can be really hard on a brush. So I'm pretty happy with the brushes durability, not to mention, it's a pretty good looking brush too. I use a good brush soap and they clean fairly easily with warm water, but then again I'm a pretty picky one when it come to having clean brushes. So far I haven't found any downside to these brushes, so I am pretty happy with them. This was my first time buying a Blicks made brush and if the rest of their lines have the same quality, rest assured, I'll be buying more. As a matter of fact, as soon as I get finished writing this review, I am going to order some of their Red Sable line of brushes. If I am as happy with those as I am with these, that would be fantastic.

I am useing the brushes in an oil painting class, and like them. My teacher who has been teaching 30 years says she uses the same kind of brushes. I did not know this, but did buy them after studying on the internet what was considered the best brushes.

Among my assortment of brushes that I slowly acquired over 18 years of painting my favorite for craftsmanship in materils, construction, detail, performance, and durability, has been with Escoda. A few months ago I purchased four flibert brushes sizes 1, 2, 3, and also 4. For all practical reasons aside I was mesmerized at the beauty of their black handles with their goldened tip set in contrast to the copper colored ferrule. Bashfully, I must disclose I do work as a sales associate at Dick Blick in the heart of Chicago. But of my own accord as a practicing painter, I chose to write this as I get nothing from backing the product other than a gain in confidence when talking about this product. I highly recomend this brush. I made four excellent life choices.

I have several brands of professional oil brushes, but recently discovered my favorite is no longer available. Decided to give these a try and was very pleasantly surprised how nice they are. The bristles have just enough bite without being too soft, yet not too stiff and just the right thickness. The brush appears to be well made and I like to feel and weight. It is definitely a keeper in my collection of brushes, and have become my favorite brush.
