The Pure Interlocking Hog Bristle series is one of our finest brush lines, and quite possibly the finest pure hog bristle you'll find anywhere. The very best craftsmanship goes into each brush, from the top-quality, hand selected white bristle to the accent of gold on the tip of the long, matte-black handles.

The term "interlocking" refers to the abundance of natural flags, or splits, on the tips of the bristles — deep flags that lock together and produce a smooth stroke even with thick or heavy paints.

Set of 6 — Save on a set of six brushes of a single shape. Sizes included are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12.

Masterstroke Pure White Bristle Fan — Our white bristle fan brush, Series 2012, is very resilient. Use it for blending paint, and for creating soft textures for hair and backgrounds in portraiture, or for trees and clouds in landscapes.

I've used the filbert masterstroke in size 3 for scrubbing in underpaintings with oils. It holds up very well - I scrub and abuse the brush but it still has a nice shape. I can't recall any bristles falling out, compared to an off brand brush that loses bristles every time I paint!

These are about the best currently available bristle brushes...useful for oils and acrylic. I still use some of the French boiled bristle brushes, which are a bit softer than these, but these are unbeatable for quality and longevity. Well balanced handles and I find the copper plated ferrules easier to keep clean than nickle or chrome plated ones. I cant think of any drawbacks to these brushes.

I got a bunch of these as alternatives to my Silver Brush flats just to see if they compared as they are a bit less expensive (or were at the time). I've been using them since December and now I like them best of all. They hold up well and offer a quality painting experience (no shedding, no limpness, decent shape retention). I always reach for them first, clean them first and just love them to ribbons.

I got these brushes after my Escoda bristle brushes turned into cute little brooms. These are slightly softer than the Escodas, which I missed at first, but they handle beautifully. After a couple of years of use they are still nearly perfect, which makes them a great value..

I paint in oils in a realistic mode, all subjects and at a professional level. There's a Blick on my way to the studio. I have to say that these brushes are dependably fine and one can count on them. That means a lot! They are priced just fine and they look good with the black and copper. I find very little funny business regarding tweaked ferules and straggly hairs such as in most lines. I prefer the rounds in all sizes. The flats are nice and toed in just so. The filberts to me are a bit pointy. These brushes are weighted just right with not too much hair nor too little.

I am a professional oil painter. Over the years I've tried over a dozen top rated manufactures in all different price ranges. It always seemed I was trading performance for wear. I started using the masterstroke series from Blick several months ago and I love em. They push paint very well but are quite responsive at the same time. My style is pretty aggressive so brush wear is always an issue for me but these wear well without trading responsiveness. So if you've been looking for a really solid performing brush I highly recommend these.

I use acrylics, and the brushes stand up pretty well to the shading that I do, what I mean by shading is actual scrubbing like one would for creating mist, smoke or sun rays. I've been using them for a couple of weeks now, and if you know anything about this kind of technique I'm referring to you know that it can be really hard on a brush. So I'm pretty happy with the brushes durability, not to mention, it's a pretty good looking brush too. I use a good brush soap and they clean fairly easily with warm water, but then again I'm a pretty picky one when it come to having clean brushes. So far I haven't found any downside to these brushes, so I am pretty happy with them. This was my first time buying a Blicks made brush and if the rest of their lines have the same quality, rest assured, I'll be buying more. As a matter of fact, as soon as I get finished writing this review, I am going to order some of their Red Sable line of brushes. If I am as happy with those as I am with these, that would be fantastic.
