Welcome to dickblick
Redesigned to meet the standards of our other Masterstroke brushes, this professional grade of Golden Taklon is carefully engineered with tapered filaments to mimic the belly and point of natural hair. A mix of diameters gives artists a brush with great control, point and absorbency that is exceptionally easy to clean.
Each brush features a natural wood handle with a matte black finish and seamless stainless steel ferrule that complies with non-hazardous standards. A great choice for watercolor painting, portraiture or other fine work in oils or acrylics.

Brush excellent but paint peeling off handle
from NE Georgia
I've been using a 3/8" angle shader in this series, and am impressed with the way it holds its shape. Today, though, I noticed that the paint is peeling off the handle. I wash, store and dry my brushes with great care, and none of my other brushes -- some of which I've used for decades -- have had any paint peel off. For this reason, I'd recommend a brush like the Simmons Saphire instead, which also holds its shape extremely well.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Disappointed in Zero Round
Comments about Blick Masterstroke Golden Taklon Liner:
I paint in acrylics. My comments here apply to the round 0 I bought. Just about every time I load it, it sheds another fiber. So I have a loaded round pointed brush with a single finer sticking out of the tip. Not what you want at all. I pull the offending fiber each time, so I suppose I will eventually denude the whole brush. So far, I do not have this problem with the other rounds of the same make, so I would have to sat that, at best there's a lack of consistency. Not expensive brushes, but they can sure be better.

Blick Taclon brushes
from Aiken, SC
I use them with Holbein Duo water solubles. I have also used them to do touch up pain on my walls! I use them for the simple reason that you can pick up a "Flat" and get a clean line on a narrow strip of trim or wall. Mainly they are used on both canvas and heavy paper. I like their handling and spring and that they clean up so easily. I have recommended them to my daughter, who is also an artist.
Great Deal on Nice Watercolor brushes!
By Avis Artist

These watercolor brushes are made to work and last. An artist really is as good as their brushes. These are wonderful watercolor brushes. Square-ended brush holds a nice edge and are smooth.
Comments about Blick Masterstroke Golden Taklon Round:
Very nice synthetic brush, holds lots of water and comes to a nice point. Will buy more in the future.
These taklon brushes are wonderful. Highly recommend!

Perfect for me
from rural Australia
Comments about Blick Masterstroke Golden Taklon Flat:
I am using the one inch flat brush to paint with fluid acrylics. I needed a brush that would not leave brush marks but would make a smooth, even wash. It is perfect. Also I have been frustrated by brushes that do not entirely clean at the ferrule and that stop working well. The masterstroke brush is the same after six paintings as when I first used it. It works the same way and still keeps a perfect edge. It will apply a thin or a thick stroke of paint evenly. It is a narrow, tightly packed brush, not fluffy, and it would not be holding a lot of paint and make a big splash with it in a water-colour wash. If you want it to do that you wouldn't like it. But for what I am doing it is better than any brush I have tried.

Using the Masterstrokes in glazing oils, and they have been just wonderful. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on this line, so I wasn't expecting to be thrilled, but I am. For me, time will always tell, but I'm expecting good things.
Tried Others, Came Back
By Flint Springs
I'm a hobby painter (acrylic on stretched canvas) and want quality without breaking the bank. I got several Blick brushes and they're still fine. Then I decided to get s few 'bargains'. What a losing hair mistake! I'm back to Blick Masterstroke for the long term quality.
