The Blick Master Etch Model II is a precision tool of intermediate size, durable enough for classroom use, and versatile enough for any studio. The press is made of lightweight contemporary materials, but it has weight where weight is needed for strength — in the solid steel rolls.
Compare our price and the following features with those of other presses of this size:
- Easy turn handles operate the finely threaded and calibrated pressure adjusters.
- Dual calibration pressure markings allow for both speed in the initial rough adjustment, and accuracy in the fine tuning.
- The spring assisted, finely machined 4¼" upper roll, and the lathe-turned 3" lower roll are both solid steel and ride on industrial quality, long-life roller bearings.
- The ½" thick phenolic bed plate is a lightweight, non-porous, non-compressible material that will not rust. Prints up to 22" × 35" may be pulled on this bed, which measures 23-5/8" wide and 36" long.
- Fully enclosed steel gears drive the lower roll at a 3.35 to ratio, resulting in easy pulling of all types of intaglio and collagraph prints, including mounted linoleum up to 7/8" thick. Total clearance without blanket is 1-5/8".
- Super-strength aluminum castings, rather than cast iron, form the frame of the Master Etch Model II — another element that meets the strength requirements while avoiding extra weight and the possibility of rust. The press is pre-drilled for attachment to the Master Etch Model II bench or any work bench.
- A ¼" thick cushion blanket is included with the press. We recommend the purchase of a catcher blanket and a pusher blanket.
- Weighs 268 lb (122 kg).
