I bought this book to make it a personal planner/ sketchbook. I really wanted solid binding, because I intended to (and did) carry it around every day for at least six months.
The good news- no pages fell out, and the paper quality was good- easy to write on with colored pencils as well as markers- and didn't stain through.
The bad news- in less than six months, the cover began to fall apart. I've been using it for about six and a half months now and the spine is not holding up well- I expect it to fall off soon. The edges of the outside are frayed.
The sketchbook did last for just about as long as it took me to fill it (that is, it's been six and a half months and I only have a couple of blank pages left), and it would probaby have been plenty good if I wasn't carrying it around every where, but I was, so next time I'm going to try another sketchbook.

I bought these for an art journaling class I am teaching at a Montessori high school. Your prices made it possible for me to get everyone in the class a sketchbook with pretty good quality paper and a hard cover!

I had never used a hardbound sketchbook before, but I decided to get one for more serious drawings so it can be more of a presentable item rather than a mess of doodles. The paper is a little bit too off-white for my taste, but for what I spent its a great sketchbook and it will serve its purpose well.

You'd think that because its so cheap, the quality would be inferior. But man, let me tell you, this is one of the best sketchbooks for pencils I have ever gotten. It is just right for quick sketchy studies or even long, detailed studies.

The paper quality adheres well to a variety of techniques and I can erase and erase without my severely damaging my paper. I use this along with my HB, 2B, and 6B pencils to study light, movement, contrast, perspective and more.

The paper is smooth with the perfect amount of texture so that if you were to draw a portrait, the paper would help to produce a good result. It is also good for gestures, trees, landscapes,buildings, flowers, etc...

My other favorite sketchbook is the Canson Drawing Foundation Sketchpad because it is very very smooth and you can blend for smooth skin seamlessly.

Plus, if you are in public sketching people, it is a good cover up because it looks NOTHING like a sketchbook :)

This sketchbook is great for using for travel is you get the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 book. I'm not home a lot due to work and i either bring my iPad or this book to work on drawings. This book is great to do those quick sketches or ideas on the go. The hardback feature of it keeps it from getting bent or creased.
Overall a great book especially for the price!

I've used about every brand of hardbound sketchbook like this and find this 99% as good as any of them. The price puts them far ahead of the others. I will definitely be buying more to use as sketch journals. Good for ink and dry media.
