Welcome to dickblick
Made of fine-quality solid wood with a lovely natural woodgrain, Blick Essentials Gallery Wood Frames are ideal for when you want your artwork to do all the talking.
With a depth of 1½" (25 mm), they'll also accommodate stretched canvases beautifully. These frames ship with a styrene face as styrene is lighter than glass and less likely to shatter in transit. The styrene face has a protective film on both sides that protects it from scratches and smudges. The film should be removed before displaying your art.
Blick Essentials Gallery Wood Frames are available in Black, Walnut, White, and Natural finishes.
Color Matching — We do our best to match the color of frames, both on our website photography and in our catalogs, but differences in technology may affect the appearance of the photo on your screen. You are entitled to return, for refund or credit, any frame that does not meet your expectations.
Frame Depth — The depth of a frame refers to the depth of the frame's rabbet (the cut-out area behind the frame's molding that holds your artwork in place). To find a frame that will accommodate your artwork, measure the depth of the artwork, including any matting or mounting materials, and order a frame with a depth that is, at a minimum, the same as that measured depth.
Frame Dimensions — Frames are sized by the opening, not by the outside of the molding. To determine the size of frame to order, measure the outside of your artwork, including mat, and order that size frame. The frame will overlap your artwork ¼" all the way around, so your artwork will fit nicely behind the frame's molding.

Comments about Blick Essentials Wood Frames:
These frames are a good value and easy to use. However, I have had to repair the larger frames as they have arrived damaged on a number of occasions. Like most artists, framing is a big part of the budget, which is why I continue to use the frames.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Mediocre quality, high price.

The frames were quite disappointing. They are extremely frail and I'm worried it will not hold artists panel becuase of it's weight. The frame develops dents very easily, especially the corners. The ones I receice already had sighs of mild dents, becuase the corners were not protected very well, even though the package was wrapped quite diligently.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I ordered 18 of these frames for an exhibit of my drawing students. They look great, easy to install artwork, light weight, plex shipped with protective covers, and hanging system on back of frame easy to wire. Shipped super fast. Very pleased.

Nice, clean look. Discard the sheet of plastic and use glass instead, UV coated preferably. Seal the interior edges with tape to prevent dust from the paint getting between the glass and mat. Use sprat air before placing art. I use duct tape to seal the back of the mounting board after inserting glazier points.
The front is thin plexi or plastic rather than glass - however, the frame looks very nice once protective sheets are removed and art is placed inside.
Good buy for the pricing

Wood was splitting when I tried to attach a hangar. Finish not covered well. They are however always well packed, but that does not mean the product is without flaws. some of the finish knocked off. I have bought quite a few of these in the tan paint finish and the black paint finish. they are quite a bit higher in poricing now for the same frame.

These frames feature my artwork beautifully
