The type of art that I do blends perfectly with using panels because I paint a base in acrylics, let dry and then come back with other colors and using artist knives to carve out my picture and the panels with their stiffness is very condusive to this type of painint.

These panels are sturdy and uniform, once in a while there will be one that is not perfect---but they are great for the price! People are likely to buy small paintings and this provide an affordable surface of standard size to paint on. Very good--

Awesome practice and beginner canvas. Can't beat the price. I gave average rating because the tiled Blick branding on the back (as opposed to simple white paper) limits freedom to sketch or test colors/values -- a usable surface wasted.

I have to say I was a little skeptical to begin with and only ordered two sizes. I wanted more but thought I would wait and see if they were ok. I am extremely surprised. I love these and will order them again.

I'm totally impressed! I use these for quick plein air paintings.
Good things: They are smoother than Blick's regular panels. They are much less thirsty than regular panels by other highly respected companies. They are made in India, not China. They are not individually wrapped - Hooray! The outer dimensions are more square than most I've used. At 5x7 I haven't notice any lack of rigidity or thickness. I actually like them better than regular non-economy panels.

I do wish they came in 4x6.
Out of 24, one had a glue lump under the canvas.
I don't know if they are totally acid free as I haven't broken that one open to test it.

We have not used these yet in class. They are not a thick as the traditional board canvas, but should do the trick for the students. Wish they were made in the USA.

Got these a day ahead of schedule and I have to say, I am impressed. It is true they aren't exactly like the normal or high quality canvas boards, but I don't really have anything to complain about. Hard, flat, perfectly textured surface great for painting. If you are looking for a cheap alternative canvas board, this is the way to go.

Am using these for classroom project for students to create a mural by combining all 24. It will be for a fundraser for our local Art Center and Market that will take bids on the completed mural. Great way to get children involved in Art since school budgets are so tight now.
