I purchased several Blick 80 lb 18" × 24" Drawing Pad's. I love the hefty 80 lb weight. They have real body to handle any drawing material you may want to use on them. The 18x24 size is perfect for detailed drawings & figure work. I also appreciate the fact the pads have 70 Sheets. Other pads I looked at only had 24 sheets. All in all I'd purchase them again.

This sketch pad is okay. I like the smooth surface of the paper. However, I don't like the softness of the surface, it makes it hard to achive deep blacks with graphite. Also, my copic multiliner inking pens bleed a little on this paper. It is good enough but I won't be using it again.

Blick Drawing Pads, especially the 80 lb pads are my very favorite. The paper's weight, durability with washes and inks is wonderful. Also, nice smooth texture. It's also hard to find relatively fat pads (70 sheets) bound at the top AND in such handy dimensions 8 x10 (not too small, not too big). It would be even nicer if the 80 lb pads came in 100+ sheets..

The 60 lbs drawing pads also have a very good texture and weight. Bigger/smaller variations is GSM among 60 lbs drawing pads come through. Blick's 60 lb drawing paper has more substance than some of the competing 60 lb drawing pads. Also these pads are competitively priced given their quality. . Blick has made two terrific paper weights with these sketch/drawing pads. Being well built and top spiral bound also makes these very appealing.

I highly recommend these, mainly for drawing with pencils, all sorts of ink pens, no bleed markers (I mainly use these with Micron Pens, Faber Castell Pitt Drawing Pens, Faber Castell Pitt Artist pens and Pitt Big Brushes & TomBows.. ) I LOVE these PADS!!! They also take light washes and you can use these with Derwent Watercolor pencils and Derwent Graphitint as well as water soluble graphite pencils.. with more conservative/lighter washes.

As with MOST drawing pads.. these can NOT be used alcohol based markers unless you use them in small spots and/or apply very lightly.. Mainly NOT with Copics, Not with Blick Studio pens, Not with ShinHans.. those are all nice pens, but they require specific heavier or specialized marker papers through which they will not bleed)

Wow! I ordered 4 of these for my drawing-obsessed daughter and had no idea what a bargain I'd receive.

The spiral binding is a must. These pads are huge! They'll keep her busy for a long time.

This is a beautiful drawing paper. I especiallky like the 80 pound version. You can't beat it for the price: You get quality paper and more of it for less.
The paper has a very slight tooth that takes pencil and pen very well, and pencil marks erase well. I use if for drawings, practice and finish work.
