Welcome to dickblick
Specially formulated for Dick Blick, we import this linoleum from Europe several times a year to provide the softest quality possible. It gives a finely detailed, sharp, clear print.
For best results, be sure your blades are sharp! Dull blades are dangerous and frustrating, especially to students. Because of the natural aging process, linoleum should be used within a year of its purchase to take advantage of its peak softness.
For your convenience, we offer our 1/8" (3 mm) thick linoleum by the square foot, in pre-cut pieces, by the roll and mounted on blocks.
Pre-Cut Pieces — For your convenience, we offer our unmounted linoleum in packages of pre-cut pieces in popular sizes.
Mounted Blocks — We've mounted our fine-quality, battleship gray linoleum on a 3/4" thick, pressed wood block for easier handling. Total thickness is 7/8".
Linoleum in Rolls — Enjoy extra savings on the same battleship gray linoleum in rolls. Cut it yourself using a sharp knife or heavy-duty paper trimmer. Linoleum rolls require truck shipment, and do not qualify for Dick Blick's free shipping offers.

I wouldn't buy this product again!

Comments about Blick Battleship Gray Linoleum:
I hate this type of lino, especially when teaching kids. I had to drive 1 hour to the nearest Blick store to buy the soft lino.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I will buy this lino again. Not top quality, but affordable.

This lino comes packed tight with no separator sheet, so the lino surface is indented from the canvas backer of the next sheet. 1 out of every 5 sheets has a defect like a hard clump or soft spot. But for the price you can work with it and carve an image where those defects are in the negative space, All in all a good lino. easy to carve and shipped quickly. I like the sizes offered and the roll option.
Merchant response: We're sorry to hear about the flaws in some of the linoleum you received, and we're happy to take care of this for you. Please look for an email from a member of our Customer Care Team who will be in touch to assist you.
Met my needs in a major way

I live in a small town in SW Colorado--no art supply stores within an hour's drive and often roads are closed due to weather. Even online art supply and craft stores seemed to be unaware of linoleum blocks for printmaking. Blick came through in spades, not only with some lino already on blocs but with this stack of linoleum that I can affix to my own blocks. I am ready to create big time now.
Amazing Linoleum Block!

I ordered one of the largest linoleum blocks I have ever worked with and the quality was superb. I cut into it to create an image to put ink onto with which I use to make large prints. i couldn't be happier with the price point or the product. Thanks!
The only lino I will buy
from Philadelphia, PA
I love this linoleum. It is smooth, and dense. My blades go through it like butter. There is no need to warm it up or anything.

My local art supplies company closed so I had to switch my school's order to Blick - this linoleum is old, hard to cut, brittle, and literally snapped in half while one of my middle schoolers carved into it. This might be better for a more advanced artist, but no good for middle schoolers who are learning about the process.

I love this linoleum! It's smooth and easy to cut! The only problem I have is when I'm carving something that makes a sharp curve the block crumbles up just a bit. (It's super microscopic, so it's not major at all) You can fix it buy going over it with your tool or an exacto knife to smooth out the edge. It might be that my tool needs to be sharpened but other than that excellent linoleum!!
