Comments about Blick All-Purpose Newsprint:
A very economical product for anyone who wants to practice gesture drawing on a daily basis. It comes in nice sizes and is shipped in a box that you can leave the paper in and pull from as needed.

Good, not for printing
from Somerville, MA
The paper was very nice, had a very soft texture, and unbeatable price. I would not recommend using this paper to print on with a printer. I tried it in four different printers and it would consistently jam in each one. Perhaps this is expected with newsprint but I hadn't thought of it beforehand and would have chosen another paper had I know the difficulties it would cause. Once printed though the pages did look very nice and the newsprint does have a unique look and feel to it.
this was a gift for two young neighbors they loved their crayons and a ream ofnewsprint
Good paper for the price
from Rhode Island
I was looking for smooth newsprint paper and this product is very good for the price. It's practically tissue paper thin but I like it for my figure drawing sessions.

Good paper amazing price
By Robin M

A friend from Watts Atelier recommended this bulk paper to me and it was one of the best recommends I have ever been given. Its good paper with a nice smooth texture and can sometimes show a nice testure pattern if charcoal is applied very smoothly. The paper has two disadvantages. It is more prone than Strathmore to being penetrated by a very sharp pencil which can cause a small tear at that location. Also its more sensitive to finger and hand oils. I use a Conte B pencil usually and it can stert to resist adding more charcoal. I might not use this paper if your favorite pencil is Wolf's Carbon because that pencil already has problems with resisting applying on certain surfaces. If you love finger or palm rubbing you might keep around some branded paper for long poses of two hours or more. This won't ever be a problem with quick sketch. Advantages are the price is a tenth of branded paper sold in pads. If you do life drawing sessions three times or more per week as I do you will go through a pad of paper in no time. You will save hundreds in paper. The box the paper comes in becomes a great place to store your finished drawings. Also the bulk paper has none of the problems associated with pads warping when kept in your car. The paper lays nice and flat on your board. Just throw another fresh twenty sheets on your board when you need it. The advantages of the box and price far outweigh the disadvantages for me.
Great for Quilters
from Hilton Head Island
I use this product for paper Piecing quilts. It is just thin/thick enough for a sewing machine needle to go through it without ripping. I have ordered this several times and divvy it up amongst my quilting friends.
I love this stuff!
from La Quinta, CA
I love using this paper for the purposes I need it for. It's easy to handle, makes quick work of cleanup, and has many uses. When I first ordered this (I order it a couple of times a year), it was packaged so poorly that I called to complain about the condition of the paper and its packaging. Now, Blick's staff is doing an outstanding job of packing it up so that it arrives in pristine condition!

I'm taking online Watt's Atelier classes and need copious amounts of smooth newsprint. Someone recommended this Blick product and it's perfect quality, texture (smooth), and price!
