Wrinkly and useless after shipping. Needs sealed plastic
from Santa Monica, CA
Comments about Blick All-Purpose Newsprint:
This HUGE volume of paper was completely compromised simply by humidity. BUT this is a very big issue when you are ordering a smooth newsprint to draw on. ANY small bump or deviation in the paper causes visual artifacts. The fact that the whole ream was completely wavy due to humidity is something that is so easily avoidable. If the ream were simply sealed in a bag, it would have likely been a 5 star review, but as is, I can't use a single sheet of this paper. HUGE disappointment.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought it for gesture drawing and mind mapping
I bought it for gesture drawing and mind mapping. It is disposable so I would'nt use it for finished artwork. I bought it with the sketching pad board and use the paper for live sketching. I will buy again but will go for the bigger size.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This paper is perfect for lots of different things. I have students use it help sketch out ideas or techniques with drawing tools plus it's great to use as paper to lay under artwork. This is an indispensable tool in my classroom.

This paper is a disposable, smooth surface paper suitable for drawing things not to be saved using soft pencil or markers. It is not a quality fine art paper. That said, it is useful in some unusual ways. I will be making cartridges for 18th century reenactors to use at battles. The paper is easily cut and torn, a requirement for the measured, rolled paper tubes needed to keep gunpowder in. The paper must be easily torn and decay readily in nature. This stuff is perfect for that purpose. At the next engagement of the Huntington Militia, their cartridges will be made of this paper.
I use this newsprint for quick figure drawings and like it very much. Great price too! Would buy again.
Smooth and good value
I use this paper for gesture drawings, most recently with the Conte á Paris pencils recommended by Stan Prokopenko (who also recommends smooth, not rough, newsprint). Its smooth surface makes it easy to erase marks. It is not, of course, archival, so don't use this for any drawings you want to last. I like that it's loose rather than in a pad. I just grab a stack of however many I'll want for a drawing session.
Yes, I will keep buying this product!

So glad I found this pack of 500!
from South Bend, IN
What a blessing it was to find not just smooth newsprint, but a pack of 500 shwets, and at a great price. Thus will save me plenty of money down the line, as I average around 2-4 sheets/day of newsprint through daily sketch practice. Much better to have plenty of sheets on hand for the foreseeable future instead of having to spend $10-15 per pad of 50 sheets every now and then. It's also super difficult for some reason to find smooth newsprint here in the U.S. for some odd reason. This is a no-brainer purchase that I will happily make again once this bulk pack runs low, which won't be for a while!

Perfect for quilt paper piecing
A must have product.

A very economical product for anyone who wants to practice gesture drawing on a daily basis. It comes in nice sizes and is shipped in a box that you can leave the paper in and pull from as needed.
