Welcome to dickblick
These squeegees are manufactured to Blick's specifications. Kiln-dried and precision cut lumber is used for the no-warp handles, which are smooth, comfortably shaped and easy to handle.
Blades are molded under high heat and pressure and have a tensile strength of more than 2,000 lbs. This eliminates ink streaking and provides a superior long-lasting printing edge. Excellent abrasion and solvent resistance.
Squeegee blades are inserted into the wood handle and stapled in position, then professionally sharpened after assembly. Use for both graphic and textile applications, for all hand printing and many machine applications.
The 3/8"W × 1-7/8" thick rounded, transparent yellow blade is used for printing through coarser mesh counts to lay down a heavy deposit of ink on dark backgrounds and athletic wear. For printing through large, mesh openings with low viscosity inks on rough, uneven surfaces and soft, aborbent materials such as fleece.

Not a clean flood or pull for DIY printing.
By GV local
Comments about Blick 50-55 Durometer Squeegee:
This review is based off of my DIY silk screening experience with both fabric and paper. The plastic part of the squeegee that is in direct contact with the ink is rounded. I have tried to successfully use this product several times and failed each time, wasting my ink and wasting my materials. The rounded edge does NOT allow for full coverage during flooding. The rounded edges also make one time "pulls" impossible. I am greatly unsatisfied with this product and would recommend straight edge squeegees instead of rounded ones.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: The round-edge squeegee does have its place: since it can deposit a thicker layer of ink, it's useful for applications on certain fabrics or with gel or puff inks. It does work best with a coarser mesh, and it sounds like this may not have been the best squeegee for your application. I used these to teach screen printing with elementary students and they worked great. They are light weight enough for kids but sturdy enough to get the job done!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Could not be happier
By Decapitated Dan

I bought the Yudu and the squeegee it comes with was just an unusable product. So I began my search for something better. I knew I wanted to get a 12" one, to help cover the screen better, and I found one here. I got this product in and could not be any happier. A great value for me starting an at home business.

The squeegee worked well with screen and ink, it was very easy to clean off and dried quickly, I'll be using this for a long time to come.
