Black Ink Screenprinted Thai Momi Paper

The "Aka Hana" design of Screenprinted Thai Momi Paper literally means "red flower." Based on Katazome — a Japanese method of dyeing fabrics using a resist paste applied through an intricate hand-cut stencil — modern printing methods allow the beauty of this art form to be replicated in a less labor-intensive way.

Many steps in the process are still done by hand. For example, the multiple screens must be aligned by hand, and each ink color is applied by hand. After the paper has been printed, it is allowed to dry, then it is hand-crumpled to achieve its soft, cloth-like momi texture.

A malleable paper weight for both fine art or papercraft applications, Screenprinted Thai Momi Paper is made in Thailand from 70% mulberry and 30% wood pulp. It has an inner border that surrounds the design, making it a work of art in itself!

Available in 25" × 36" sheets, this acid-free, 37–42 gsm paper.

Handling Charge — When ordering sheets of paper or board larger than 18” x 24” in quantities of less than 10, a $3.00 per order handling fee applies. Paper or boards may be assorted to reach the quantity of 10.
