Rives papers for printmaking
from Saugatuck, Mi
I use Rives papers for intaglio and relief printmaking. These papers are very consistent in quality and performance and are good for proofing and editioning. I consider Rives papers to be a world standard for print. Proofing an etching on BFK Rives gives an accurate read on the quality and success of your plate. BFK is good for consistent edition quality as well. I use Rives lightweight for press printing woodcuts. I recommend these papers to students.
The Quality of Material & Service
from Starkville, MS
Being a struggling art student Dick Blick is the most effect way to find this kind of paper at an affordable cost. Their service is some of the best I have experienced.
Excellent drawing paper
from Los Angeles, CA
It's cost effect for me to buy the whole roll since I use it primarily as my drawing surface. I don't waste as much paper either. The surface is great for picking up charcoal.
The paper is like fine cloth
from Fairfax, Vt.
I have loved Rive and Arches papers since I was first introduced to them in my collegelithography classes. They are like fine cloth and I hope they will continue to be made..Currently I am using them to make small books of my poetry, printed by hand with a letterpress.I couldn't be happier .
We use it for more than printmaking
By Teacher Jess
from Portland, OR
We use this product for much more than printmaking. I work at a children's museum where adult and kid artists work together. This paper is great. It holds up to layers of paint, pen, aggressive drawing, and ink. The texture is wonderful and the whole process feels much more special than large paper that children are often allowed to work on. Our finished and framed pieces are helping expand people's perception of what children are capable of.
Does not meet paper quality
from Duluth MN
Did not meet quality expectations that I expect from BfK. In the past it would hold up to multiple runs. Not true of this last batch I ordered.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Great print paper especially for etching.
from Buffalo, NY
I use this paper for multiple layer etchings. It is strong and durable and a basic all around dependable paper.
Solid paper at a great price
By Allen B
from Clarksburgm MD
Rives BFK is the go to paper for so many artists. It is solid, takes a pounding and holds up well for hard worked drawings. I use it for some of my drawings but it is my paper of choice for my drawing students' final drawing of the semester. It can be erased and reworked for hours and still take more abuse. Buying from Blick makes it possible for my students to afford. Prompt shipping and the constant coupons and sales makes it easy to order for the class in bulk. Rives BFK let's my students get a taste of what drawing can really be like.
