Solid paper at a great price

Comments about Canson Rives Printmaking Papers:
Rives BFK is the go to paper for so many artists. It is solid, takes a pounding and holds up well for hard worked drawings. I use it for some of my drawings but it is my paper of choice for my drawing students' final drawing of the semester. It can be erased and reworked for hours and still take more abuse. Buying from Blick makes it possible for my students to afford. Prompt shipping and the constant coupons and sales makes it easy to order for the class in bulk. Rives BFK let's my students get a taste of what drawing can really be like.

Ive used this paper for 20 years!

This is a beautiful drawing paper! Soft, pliable, and with a slightly velvet texture that handles many applications beautifully. I've used printing inks, oils, and pencil on it, and glued various rice papers to it using gel mediums. I have pieces from a museum show that still look good twenty years later. I would highly recommend trying this paper out.
An Average Paper
from Tomball, TX
I purchased this product thinking it was a paper that I used to use for mixed media watercolor and Prismacolor paintings, but when I received it, it was anything but. This was no fault of Dick Blick, but that of mine and not marking papers that I'd purchased years and years ago. The paper is an odd microscopically pebbly tooth and has enough sizing to make it a decent watercolor paper. It's more rag than anything and easily bends and warps so be sure to either tape down and iron after the fact or pre-wet and stretch with a hake. The best part about it is the cost, but it's still sub-par to the mystery paper that I've been searching for. I do know from my time in art school that it is a fantastic printmaking paper, however, so take my review for it in other uses worth a grain of salt. I'm keeping the paper to use for cheaper commissions. Expertly packaged!

Group of 5 people used all the paper I ordered and had so much fun printing their etched plates that they want to do it again. In the past using same paper several of these folks have won top honors in art shows with their prints.

Buy in Bulk for a great price. I buy the larger sheets and deckle the edges when timing to size. Not a scarp is wasted. Love. I ue with my Archival 8 color Epson printer for stunning results.
Cream BFK is the best for etching!

I use BFK for relief, screen printing and etching. I prefer the color of cream BFK to other papers in a cream tone. The quality, texture and durability of BFK is best of Etching, and enhances the tonal value of etching, especially with aquatint is involved.

I have used this printing paper for years. I love the choice of colors and it really gives lovely, clear prints.
