These cross-braces are made with the same quality and care as the Best Medium Duty Stretcher Bars. They are made from kiln-dried, knot-free, straight white pine.

Price is per strip, not per pair. These cross-braces are only for use with Best Medium Duty Stretcher Bars.

Note — Cross Brace Brackets are required for every brace purchased. Brackets come as a set of two, so one package of brackets must be ordered for each brace ordered.

Note — These braces are straight braces only. If notched braces are needed, you have to special order the straight braces to be center-notched so they will fit together properly. To place a special order, please call 1-800-447-8192. When you call, please be prepared to supply the dimensions of the frame you are building and which length you want notched. Notching is an additional charge and you will be notified of the additional charge before the order is processed.

Richeson Cross Brace Brackets — These cross-brace brackets work with all sizes of cross-braces to assure that your frames sit completely flat against the wall. Their slotted design allows for the finest adjustment of canvas tension. Each pack contains two brackets and six screws for easy assembly.

The Cross Bracer was too short to use for a painting the size it was meant for. It was an inch and half too short. This forced me to have to make one to go with the standard stretchers.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

to have an explanation somewhere that a 48" stretcher goes with a 48" cross brace.

We love the BEST stretcher strips. Generally, there is eveidence of very good QC with them. However, the cross-braces seem to have much lower QC. Both their lengths and their rabbet depths have way too much variability. It's a much simpler piece, so it seems strange that the simpler piece exhibits such poorer QC.
