The Manhattan Easel features a double fold-out painting tray with a melamine paint mixing surface and two large stainless steel canisters for solvents. When closed, the painting tray is 30" (76 cm) wide. When open, it measures 60" (152 cm) wide.

With the tray mounted, the maximum canvas height is 88" (224 cm). By removing the tray, a maximum canvas height of 102" (259 cm) can be achieved. The top carriage tilts forward and backward as well as sliding up and down. A middle canvas holder accommodates smaller work.

The Manhattan Easel is constructed in the USA of American oak, then hand-rubbed with oil to reveal the inherent beauty of the wood grain.
