Very versatile book for the price

Comments about Bee Paper Aquabee Super Deluxe Sketchbook:
I have been using the 6 by 9" size of this sketchbook for several years now - I use them as my art workbooks and just started my fourth one. I plan my paintings in them, which can involve any or all of the following: graphite sketches, ink washes, watercolor washes or acrylic color swatches. I also print out WIP photos I've taken and glue them in with Modgepodge. The paper is fairly durable. It can handle a few light washes of ink or watercolor with minor buckling (although I use bullclips to help keep the paper flat). The first layer of acrylic tends to almost soak into the paper, but after that it's great. It doesn't handle colored pencil very well, though, and I don't like using pen in it very much. I usually fix my graphite pages with workable fixative to prevent smudging. I will keep buying these!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Been using this sketchbook since 1980! It takes watercolor along with ink and pencil beautifully! I won't buy any other kind. I even drew an illustration of it in my new book, An Artistic Date with Nature!

Watercolor with Pitt pen
Just enough grit
By Abi Shorthair

I'm going to use it for drawing and probably with pen and ink. I tried my pen on it, and the ink went on smoothly and didn't run.

Buzzing About Bee Paper
By A Work in Progress

Since I discovered this product I have used no other sketchbook or watercolor paper. It is resilient and provides a professional looking finished piece of artwork. It holds up to wet media very well and doesn't bleed thru to the other side. I'm sold on it and encourage all artists to give it a try.
A Nice Surpirse
from Dallas, TX
I was surprised to find how easy to use this larger size and wirebound sketchbook is. And it handles pastels markers, charcoal, pen and light washes just fine. The price was right, and I love the little free Traveler's pocket size book that came with this offer. I think I will be sticking with this Bee Paper large book.

Try it you'll like it
from Berkeley, CA
I have decades worth of sketchbooks and most of them are Aquabee. Much better than spiral bound offerings from Strathmore and Canson. Natural white, thick, and with excellent sizing makes for a versatile and durable sheet. The older style had a plainer cover with smaller binding wire and holes. Not sure how I feel about the bigger square holes in the current product— I suppose, with some effort one can rearrange pages with the newer style of wire binding. The remains the same and has been a favorite for many years.
The ONLY Sketchbook I use

I love the Aquabee Super Delux Sketchbook. I'm a watercolorist and the paper takes watercolor beautifułly. I have used it for everything from quick pencil sketches of ideas to elaborate watercolor thumbnails to pages of taped in reference material. I have dozens of these books from over my 40 years of being an artist.you can get less expensive sketchbooks but you can't get anything better.
