Probably my favorite paper for using in a sketchbook.

I keep one in my car all the time for impromptu sketching. I love the paper but also the durability of the covers when I am travelling.

Love these little sketchbooks

These are my "warm-up" books, my what-if books, my capture-it-now books. I have used them for years to loosen up my vision so I can see, to try out little experiments with ink and paint, to do quick little sketches on the run. The paper is perfect for this, as it has enough weight and sizing to play with either watercolors or a light touch with acrylics, for multimedia playing, enough tooth for charcoal and pencil. No bleedthrough, though I can't say about markers because I don't use them. I can stick one in small zipper bag with my Pentel pen wallet and some pencils, and put the whole thing in my bag. The paper will sometimes buckle a little if much moisture is used, but I let it dry, close the book, and weight it.

Best wire bound sketchbook on the market!
from Monroe Michigan
All quick sketches and paintings look great on Aquabee paper. It has been a favorite for years and holds watercolors nicely. The white paper allows the sparkle of the watercolors to shine through. I like the wire bound sketchbooks because they lay flat. The paper is thick enough that it doesn't bleed through unless you are using a super juicy marker or sharpie. The paper has a slight texture on front side and smooth on the back side. Nonstaining watercolors can be lifted out but overworking the paper will cause the paper fibers to lift and ball up (pill). It is not as durable as 100% cotton but its not expect it to be. It is a great paper for pencil and wash or pen and wash techniques. The paper is rated at 93# sketch paper but it actually measures 0.0085 inches (0.21mm) thick. For reference 140# 100% cotton watercolor paper is 0.019 inches (0.48mm) thick, which is twice the thickness of the Aquabee paper. It is, by far, the best wire bound sketchbook on the market!

Love these sketchbooks because I can use a variety of media and the paper holds up. This is the only sketchbook I use any more.

Didn't work with my style, but a good value
from New Hampshire
I was hoping to use this book with light watercolor and ink. Because I rely on the ability to soften and lose edges and enjoy a cold press texture for drybrush work, this paper didn't work for me at all. Giving it to a friend that works in a crisper style.
Merchant response: Thank you for your review. Although this paper is well-sized to withstand wet media, it is still primarily a drawing paper with a vellum texture, and we're sorry if this wasn't what you needed. The Very Best

I absolutely love this sketchbook and I have had sooo many that I have not. I push this thing very hard and it has never let me down. I put ink, watercolor, acrylic, tempera and lots of graphite and charcoal all over these pages and I've never even had a bleed through to the back of a page, In fact, I use the backs too because I know they wont come through at all. The color is light, off-white and watecolors show up well, the tooth is medium so you smudge-rubbers wont have the smoothest fades ever but you just can't beat this book my friends. Worth every penny.
