The Badger Renegade Krome RK-1 "2-in-1" Detail Airbrush is designed to outshine all other fine detail airbrushes. Modeled after Badger's original Renegade Airbrushes, it incorporates features that were suggested by professional airbrush artists to achieve even finer results.
The RK-1 is an internal mix, dual action, gravity feed airbrush that's ideal for auto detailing, illustration, model detailing, makeup application, fingernail painting, cake decorating, and other highly detailed applications.
This airbrush boasts an improved "glide coat" finish on the trigger and rocker lever for exceptionally smooth, precise, friction-free airbrushing. The RK-1's softer trigger tension allows for greater control, and its improved micrometer trigger stop lets you set and reference spray patterns as fine as 1/1000 of an inch.
The RK-1 also offers twice the versatility of other airbrushes because it comes with two needle/nozzles — 0.21 fine and 0.33 extra-fine — as well as two spray regulators.
The chrome finish is sleek, and an ergonomic underbody finger rest offers maximum comfort during prolonged detail sessions. The finger rest is easily removable for cleaning.

An exceptionally crafted airbrush
from Isanti, MN
First off, I'd like to thank Blick for the exceptional care they took when packing the airbrush case for shipment. They went the extra mile with packing paper to make sure that the package arrived safely. I could have thrown that box out of a moving car and the airbrush case inside wouldn't have had a scratch on it. That alone will have me ordering more art supplies from Blick. Great job guys, Thanks! Before I get to the airbrush, keep in mind that I am not an expert, and this review is based largely in comparison to the other airbrushes I have used that are similar to the Renegade Krome. The Badger Renegade Krome is a work of art itself. The craftsmanship is exceptional and is a pleasure to look at. Painting is smooth and can make fine lines easily. Where this airbrush really shines IMO are in its features. The finger rest and the weighted handle make it well balanced and it rests comfortably in my hand. The cup is easy to clean, and paint has a hard time sticking to the internal components making the cleaning process much less painful than other airbrushes I've owned. It has a unique mechanism that allows you to adjust the tension of the trigger to make it easier or harder to pull the trigger back for paint flow which is a nice feature when I'm painting detail work.In all, this is a fantastic airbrush and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves airbrushing.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is the best airbrush I have ever used. The .2mm needle gets some really good fine lines. The .3mm needle can still get some small thin lines but is also good for some larger areas.I will never use any other airbrush from now on.

First of all my review is based on quality control and not on performance. The first airbrush (AB) I received had a big gap between the Hold Down Ring (HDR) and the airbrush body (shell). So I decided to get a replacement. Before I send it back I did try to see if that part was just loose and just needed to be tightened up. That was not the case.Almost two weeks later, I got the replacement AB and I was excited. When I opened the box and got the AB out the first thing I did was to check for the same issue and, guess what? It had the same defect just with a smaller gap. After this I decided to get a refund.I did try to contact Badger directly about the manufacturing flaw and I decided to do it through email since that is the only way I could send them the photo. I never got a response from the company. In Badger's defense, I read in the "Airbrush Forum" that for whatever reason the company is not responding to emails and that the best way to get in contact with them is via phone. I did attempt to call, but was sent to a voicemail, at which I did not leave a message. After getting the second AB with the same problem and not getting a response by email, I decided to purchase from an alternative brand. I have included two photos; one of each AB I received. Now, for the record, Blick's (where I ordered the AB) customer service was very professional and never gave me any problems. I did communicate with them through phone and through email and I got responses using both forms of communication.

So easy to get familiar with this auirbg
This airbrush is used to paint precise pièces of a model boat I am building. Many colors are necessary for achieving this model, so easy cleaning is a critcal action for minimizing time when changing color. Easy here providing you carefully dismount the airbrush and keep safely each of its little pièces.

As Good An Airbrush As Everyone Say's
from Truth or Consequences, NM
Just a heads up. Look at the reviews on the Badger Krome. They are totally accurate. I have a Royalmax 130 and a Paasche VL. I've been using the VL for 40 years and I still like it... but! This Krome is now my go to brush period. I've used friends Iwatas and Harder and Steenbecks. Love em both. But I'll tell you, for the money you can't beat this Krome. A small caveat though... if your looking to lay down paint get something that comes with a bigger needle and paint nozzle. This is a detail brush and while you can use it for large base coats and such it will take a bit more time. My VL is still the champ for volume. If I were relegated to the purchase of just a single airbrush I think I'd go with the Krome and just take my time on large areas. The smoothness of operation and fine line detail are just to good to ignore at this price. Good luck and happy painting.....
