If you're doing general hobby painting (like medium to large figurines or diecast vehicles) give this one a pass. The base where you set the item to be painted is the filter, so if the item weighs anything the filter lifts at the edges of the unit and bunches around the object. It really needs a steel grill or mesh to hold the project up above the pillowy filter. The shroud around the unit is also made out of cardboard, not even corrogated plastic. That seems kinda cheap to me. I paint sculptures ranging from 0.5lbs to 2lbs and I'm not having a good time with this spray booth.

On the plus side the base/fan unit seems very well made, it's noisy but not TOO bad (would recommend ear plugs if you're using it for hours on end), and the company who makes it is a pleasure to deal with.

Easy to use - parts are inexpensive to replace. Not so large that it takes up a ton of room.

My previous solution (spraying inside a box) was terrible. I didn't even know these existed or I would have bought one years ago. It sucks in the overspray excellently and is a nice compact size.

I use the spray booth for model horses and small crafts. It is perfect. I was amazed at how much of the odor was removed. Also, No problem with overspray in the area. Should have purchased one sooner!
