An efficient booth for small spaces and tight budgets, the Artograph Model 1520 Economy Spray System accommodates flat or 3-D objects. The booth’s angled work surface is perfect for trapping spray from adhesives, fixatives, and finishes.
The 15" × 20" (38 × 51 cm) work surface features a three-stage filter system that includes a replaceable pre-filter sheet for capturing the bulk of the sprayed materials. Also included are a thick, polyester mid-filter, a polyester/carbon filter, and a built-in exhaust adapter for venting outside or to another indoor space.
Three-Stage Filter Design:
1st Stage: A 100% polyester pre-filter media that traps the bulk of the initial spray and provides a continuous clean work surface. Five pre-cut sheets are included, and additional pre-filters are available in packs of 20.
2nd Stage: Under the pre-filter is a 1" thick non-woven polyester air-laid material with a blue PVC binder on the exit side. Unlike fiberglass, this material is non-toxic, it won’t migrate to the air exit side, and it offers excellent filtration. One filter is included.
3rd Stage: A carbon-impregnated polyester (poly-carb) filter that traps additional odors and particles. One filter is included.
Filters are available in packages of 4 and 20.

Comments about Artograph Model 1520 Economy Spray-System:
Great little booth for small to average size hobbies. I've had mine for close to ten years and it still works great. Filters are pricey, but needed. Have it in the basement and when I spray, you can't smell a thing (I have it vented outside).
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not great for 3 dimensional stuff
By Dave the Jogger
If you're doing general hobby painting (like medium to large figurines or diecast vehicles) give this one a pass. The base where you set the item to be painted is the filter, so if the item weighs anything the filter lifts at the edges of the unit and bunches around the object. It really needs a steel grill or mesh to hold the project up above the pillowy filter. The shroud around the unit is also made out of cardboard, not even corrogated plastic. That seems kinda cheap to me. I paint sculptures ranging from 0.5lbs to 2lbs and I'm not having a good time with this spray booth. On the plus side the base/fan unit seems very well made, it's noisy but not TOO bad (would recommend ear plugs if you're using it for hours on end), and the company who makes it is a pleasure to deal with.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Easy to use - parts are inexpensive to replace. Not so large that it takes up a ton of room.

My previous solution (spraying inside a box) was terrible. I didn't even know these existed or I would have bought one years ago. It sucks in the overspray excellently and is a nice compact size.
I use the spray booth for model horses and small crafts. It is perfect. I was amazed at how much of the odor was removed. Also, No problem with overspray in the area. Should have purchased one sooner!
