Welcome to dickblick
This box is great for organizing and storing your art, hobby, and craft supplies.
With three solid plastic trays, the removable dividers let you create from 17 to 27 compartments. It's built to last with a draw-tight latch and sturdy tongue-and-groove construction.
The Tip-Guard tray prevents spills.

Great storage and organizer
from River Forest, IL
I have used fishing tackle boxes for years in my animal research to store and organize small easily lost or misplaced items. This is great for the artist because it is designed for the artist. Again drawers and boxes were emptied and put into the ArtBin. Now they are all in one place and easily seen when opened. I can also transport it on a moment's notice.
Perfect Christmas gift
from Madison, WI
This ended up becoming a gift for my mother and she uses it to store her painting supplies to make them as portable as the easel she has. The moment she saw it she was drooling over the compartmentalizations options, all of the space available while it still managed to be so compact. Since she took it home I haven't heard a word except about all of the painting she's been doing so it has to be working great for her!!

It's hard to compare ArtBin with other portable art storage cases, because they hold the monopoly on the product. Many years ago I purchased their "Upscale 3-Tray" case and was really happy with it. However, because I had an over-abundance of art supplies for school, I needed to find something a bit larger.I decided to purchase the ArtBin 3-Tray (8737AB) and the XL 3-Tray (8237AB) which are essentially the same boxes but different sizes.I was very disappointed with the quality when they arrived. The first thing I noticed on both was that when opened, the top lid easily slips right off its hinges! I can't imagine if this happened while someone was carrying it! The trays seem also very unsteady with a lot of "wiggle room". Perhaps this is a deliberate design, but when opened, the trays can actually be twisted semi-sideways. My Upscale 3-Tray is NOT like this at all. This problem is worse with the larger box (XL 3-Tray) but still occurs with both models.Any dividers that run front to back are permanent. Removable dividers are included if you wish to further divide the spaces. Because most art supplies are larger, I wish ArtBin had designed the trays with more open space with optional division. I am not storing small things like beads or pins. Paints, markers, brushes, ink jars, brush cleaner, scissors, tape, etc. require wide spaces to store.None of the compartments of the ArtBin 3-Tray (8737AB) are deep enough for colored or regular pencils, most pens, or Prismascolor or Copic markers. These items would have to be relegated to the single thin space on the top tray or the big open space in the bottom (more suited to bulky items like acrylic paints). (Note: the XL 3-Tray *will* accommodate pencils and markers.) The only place for brushes would again be the single thin space on the top tray.Sadly, this ArtBin case did not fit my needs. The tray compartments were too sectioned off and the entire box seemed cheap and poorly constructed. In the end, I ended up going with a locally purchased Creative Options bin.I will happily return to the ArtBin brand if they improve the quality of their tray boxes.

I purchased this case to transport materials to an art class. Unfortunately, it is clumsy and very difficult to use. It takes up too much space when case is opened and cannot stand opened without flipping backwards spilling out materials.Good features: can hold a lot of art supplies, light weight.Bad features: the case cannot stand with the lid open it tips backwards and materials fall out. Top came undone after first use, everytime I open the case I must reattached the top into the cheap plastic hinges, really annoying. Will keep for home use since it does store a lot. I am better off using a cheap wooden wine case.
