They are suitable for Grade 5 through adult learners. Glazing and Firing — Basic information on the firing process and glaze chemistry. Electric, gas, and barrel firing are discussed, glaze types are compared, and oxidation/reduction is defined. Handbuilt Pottery — Three potters demonstrate coil, hard slab, soft slab and press mold techniques using stoneware, raku, and porcelain. Handbuilt Clay Sculpture — An artist combines the techniques of hard slab, soft slab, and press molds to create a sculpture and demonstrates barrel firing. Wheel Thrown Pottery — Start-to-finish demonstration of wheel throwing techniques, followed by trimming, handle attachment, bisquing, glazing and firing to finish a piece.
