A lot of reviewers seem to take issue that these are not completely anatomically correct or that the fingers and toes are not poseable or that the breasts on the female are not absolutely true to life. To these reviewers I say your expectations are way off. These models are designed for studies and model positioning not to create finished pieces of art and as such are wonderful and priced great. If you have problems with the size of the breast or lack of positionable fingers then perhaps you would be better off with a live model figure drawing class.

These models present a very detailed, easily positionable platform for drawing studies Whats more, with a little creativity you can take them to another level. By simply adding doll clothes you have readily available clothing drape studies. I use non-drying clay to create bases for them that provide detailed setting models as well. The price is good for what you are getting too. The only real drawbacks are the base, which really needs to be reworked (I made my own and am perfectly happy with the results) and the limbs tend to loosen over time with a lot of use. This can be solved easily enough by one of two methods I use. the first is to apply a small bit of clear tape over the joints and the second is to use the non drying clay to cover the joints for long term poses. Both are quick, cheap and easy to do and undo.

Received them today. They are really nice models and they'll be great for sketching. The female model can hold a wide variety of poses and easy to position. However, the male is quite stiff and takes a bit of time to break in. And the arms can't hold a pose at all which is driving me nuts. Even though they aren't 100% anatomically accurate, for the price they are a great deal. Just which the male model was better quality.

Be careful when unpacking, the heads, hands, and female feet are made from very soft plastic and easily scratched/dented.

I agree with numerous remarks about these models. The proportion of the heads and the female's features could use corrections. I bought both of these and the male's joints are stiff. The female's are almost too loose. You will spend some time posing them because, as also remarked, the stand is flimsy and without merit. I happened to see the Obitsu "Manga" version of these (available through Dick Blick) and note how similar they are. The Manga's are much more expensive. There is the kernel of a good idea here. These definitely need some refinement to more closely resemble anatomical models versus Barbie and a super hero, as previously noted. They should also come with a repair kit because it wasn't long before my female model tipped over and her leg separated from the trunk. Try as I may, it can't be fixed. The one thing that I really did like about these is the poses. The joints make poses almost limitless and lifelike. I'd like to recommend these but I can't. There is a market for these and I would welcome an improved version. These ought to go back to the drawing board for tweeking.

These figures have a wide range of flexibility compared to the common wooden ones you can purchase for roughly the same price. That said, they are still somewhat limited on pose range, but they work great as guides. I wouldn't recommend this product so much for realistic figure drawing, but if you do more comic/cartoon stuff it is a wonderful companion when you just can't seem to picture the angles of a certain pose in your head.

My only real complaint about this product is the included stand. The metal grabber isnt tight enough to keep the figure suspended for odd poses, and the plastic part of the base that holds the metal can split easily, requiring tape to fix it. Fortunately the models keep their poses well enough to avoid needing these stands much.

I use this product when I need a certain body pose for my drawings .These models fill that bill perfectly.The male female models art anatomically near perfect .I am not sure if there is any other models better than these .The best I have ran across for sure .

These are the first figures I've bought, so I don't know how they compare to the old-fashioned wood mannequins, but they're so inflexible they're impossible to get into almost any natural pose. Also, for claiming to be so detailed their perportions are definitely off. A GI Joe would probably be a more accurate model.

Useful for basic poses and to get a basic idea of how to draw a not too detailed figurine drawings.If only the hands and fingers where more possible to pose, it would be an even greater value.However,for the price,it's probably what you would expect.

I bought the female model. This model is basically anatomical in so far as it has breasts. However, other than that you could basically buy one of those barbies whose has movable joints and basically have the same thing. It's ludicrously out of proportion and as a human female, I can assure that normal female breasts do NOT mold themselves together in a way that creates most cleavage without the help of clothing. Frankly, I find it pretty insulting and would really appreciate a model that looked like an actual woman so that could have help creating images of actual women. It's a little silly when you find yourself having to adjust the proportions of the model based on your own knowledge of the human figure. I basically use it to see what the human body would look like from certain angles so I can get what limbs go in front of the other correct. I'm honestly a little embarrassed to leave it out, as it kind of looks like some smutty female version of the Greendale Human Being. PLEASE someone make a normal looking model for women. It would also be nice and really helpful if there was a version for children.
