Paper Molas — Artist Peggy Flores demonstrates the art of creating molas with colored paper. Traditionally, molas are made of fabric by the Kuna people of Panama. Flores starts by drawing the subject and cutting the layers of paper. She then glues each layer of paper, allowing the previous layers of color to show through. Papier-Mâché Pop Art — Artist and educator Peggy Flores demonstrates the papier-mâché process as she constructs a large pop art candy sculpture in the style of Claes Oldenburg. After making a large bag from folded newspaper, she stuffs the bag with paper and seals the top.
